We recently hosted a kickoff meeting for the newly-formed Effingham Industry Group, an initiative designed to provide comprehensive support services for local industrial businesses. Maria Whitfield, Director of Workforce for the Savannah Harbor-Interstate 16 Corridor Joint Development Authority, moderated the panel featuring industry experts Marqueshia Henry of Great Dane, Tim Bailey of Webstaurant and Lily Gibbons of The Sack Company. The discussion explored various strategies that industrial companies can use to attract and retain top employees. Thank you to Estes Express Lines Rincon for graciously hosting this event and Savannah RISE for helping us organize! https://lnkd.in/ekrTkPFh

Educators from EFFINGHAM COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT participated in Gulfstream Aerospace's Discover the Difference: Experience for Educators event earlier today. The day featured an overview of Gulfstream’s operations in Savannah, a tour of Building Z, and a special showcase on Taxiway H, where attendees had an up-close look at the G700, G650, G600, G400, and G280 aircraft. The event also highlighted Gulfstream's commitment to workforce development, showcasing over 1,000 open positions in the local area. Many of these opportunities are accessible to high school graduates, providing valuable career pathways in aviation and advanced manufacturing. Educators left with new insights to help guide students toward these in-demand careers, many of which are right here in our region. Thank you to Savannah RISE for helping to coordinate this fantastic opportunity! #WorkforceDevelopment #AviationCareers #EffinghamCounty #EducationAndIndustry

When you see those sheets of shingle, tile or flooring swatches when you're renovating your home, there's a chance that Sampco of Georgia produced it! They work with architects and building material brands to create sales collateral that helps them seal the deal. They've had a location in Effingham County since 1983.
