Zachary Taylor Davis was one of the legendary architects who helped shape Chicago's architectural scene, contributing to projects such as Comiskey Park, Mount Carmel High School, and St. James Chapel. His most notable contribution, Wrigley Field, owned by chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr., still stands as the home to one of the city's beloved MLB teams - the Chicago Cubs. Upon completion in 1888, the eleven-story Chicago Rookery was one of the tallest buildings in the world at the time. Once finished by the architectural firm of Burnham and Root, Frank Lloyd Wright was hired in 1905 to modernize the interior spaces. Today, the Rookery stands as a cornerstone of Chicago’s rich architectural heritage, bringing together the work of two of the city's great design architects. The Capitol Records building, designed by Louis Naidorf in 1953 when he was only 24 years old, was the world's first circular office building.
