  • EI Associates is proud to announce that the Appell Horticulture Center at York College of Pennsylvania has been selected as one of the Inaugural Top Projects of 2024 for the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal (CPBJ).The award and selection process is described by CPBJ as: "Top Projects is a new awards program that honors the best building and construction projects in Central Pennsylvania over a 12-month span – from January 2023 to December 2023 – in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties. The awards are not only a look back at the excellent work that’s taken place in the previous year, but they also anticipate how these plans and projects potentially establish landmarks of the future. Projects were judged on the following criteria: degree of difficulty, creativity in design, innovative construction techniques, cooperation among contractors, management and in some cases government, adaptive reuse and sustainability efforts. Winners of the 2024 Top Projects Awards were chosen by the editors of Central Penn Business Journal." EI Associates along with representatives from York College of Pennsylvania and Powder Mill Foundation attended an awards ceremony on October 28th, 2024 to receive the recognition. We would like to thank our design partners and Wagman Construction for their contributions in designing and building such a successful project. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal for their recognition of our work.  A full description, walk through video, and additional photos of the project can be found on our website at www.eiassoc.com. #architecture #construction #educationdesign #CPBJevents

  • EI Associates provided architectural and interior design services for the new 34,000 square foot Bedford Rural Electric Cooperative (REC) headquarters. The Bedford REC has outgrown their existing facility and determined that a new facility would better serve both the needs of their employees and customers for decades to come. Located in the Bedford County Development Association (BCDA) Business Park I in Bedford, Pennsylvania, the new facility is situated on a 13.5 acre parcel. In closely working with Bedford REC, the design includes a new office area and warehouse area as well as needed areas on the site for their vehicles, equipment, staging, and lay-down areas. The office area includes private offices, open offices, multi-purpose training room, board room, lineman area, conference rooms, and support spaces. The warehouse area includes eight (8) drive-thru bays for vehicular storage as well as separate storage areas for equipment and supplies. Last month after the design phases were completed, EIA’s Senior VP and General Manager Adam R. Kerr, R.A. participated in the groundbreaking ceremony. We would like to extend our gratitude as well as our congratulations to our team members at Gatter & Diehl, Inc. Professional Engineers, H.F. Lenz Company, and FacTech Inc. #groundbreaking #architecture #engineering #renderingdesigns
