About us
The Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties influences successful outcomes in early education. The Coalition‘s School Readiness Program can help working parents with the cost of child care (frequently called a child care subsidy). These services include extended-day, extended-year, and school age care for children to support parents in becoming financially self-sufficient. The Voluntary Prekindergarten Program (VPK) is designed to prepare Florida’s children for kindergarten and develop the skills they need to become successful students. At the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties, we believe in creating a supportive community for children to be successful in school and life. Because every child deserves a quality education from day one.

🤩Last week, the Coalition was delighted to be a part of Beacon Community Child Development Center’s Open House, celebrating the unveiling of their new playground, which was partly funded by the ELCPH’s ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) grant. Members of the ELCPH team attended the event and had a wonderful time exploring the new playground equipment. Our Executive Director, Dr. Steve Knobl, even took a turn on the slide—because we truly believe in the importance of hands-on learning and play! ✴️We’re proud to support this childcare facility in creating outdoor play opportunities that enhance physical health, foster social connections, and spark creativity in young learners. It’s all about providing enriching experiences for our children! ✴️(Photos included: Beacon Community Child development center, Jan Jones, director; ELCPH Executive Director Steve Knobl; Director of Education Services, Carrie Culbertson; Katie Dean, Provider Performance Supervisor and Mark Cerasaro, Training Specialist). #playground #outdoor #play #childcare #earlylearning #education

🤩ELCPH Executive Director Dr. Steve Knobl, and the Coalition Engagement Team, Sherri Sabadishin and Samantha Dominguez, recently visited the new Dayspring Academy Angeline in Central Pasco. We had the pleasure of thanking in person our Early Childhood Credential Apprenticeship graduate, Allyson Burton, and 600-hour graduate, Skylar O'Donnell. As a token of appreciation, we presented each graduate with a thank-you gift basket filled with educational goodies and resources for their students. We are especially grateful for the time Allyson and Skylar invested by participating on-camera with their personal stories about the Early Childhood Credential program which was featured in our new brand video and commercial. It was truly inspiring to witness their passion for teaching and see their VPK classrooms in action! Our team also visited Creative World in Land O' Lakes, where we had the opportunity to meet with owner Mike Colquhoun and interact with the young learners at the center. It was wonderful to see the engaging environment he has created for the children and to connect with the enthusiastic students.
