Texas-based Element Fuels was founded to develop and operate scalable next generation clean fuels production.
About us
Texas-based Element Fuels was founded to develop and operate scalable next generation clean fuels production. Operational in 2027, Element Fuels’ hydrogen-powered refinery will produce the cleanest fuels in the United States due to our innovative approach to hydrogen and power generation while utilizing the latest advanced technologies provided by some of the world’s leading power generation and engineering firms. We are setting a new standard for clean refining. Now in Phase I of construction, Element Fuels’ refinery will serve as an industry-leading example of the sustainable economy by using excess hydrogen to produce low carbon intensity fuels. Excess clean electricity (100+ MW) will be made available for the surrounding community to support local needs while contributing to the broader goal of advancing national energy security and infrastructure. With more than a century of combined experience in the chemical and refining industries, Element Fuels’ senior management is comprised of industry veterans who have successfully engineered, developed, and managed over $500 billion of complex capital projects, including individual greenfield developments of up to $40 billion. Our Founder and Chairman John Calce was featured during a segment on KIAH-TV this morning to discuss the important work Element Fuels is doing with our hydrogen-powered clean fuels refinery. During the segment, John and Sharron Melton discussed the project and its significance for the clean fuels transition, as well as its benefits for the South Texas economy. Thank you to Sharron and CW39 for having us on and allowing us to share our vision for the next generation of clean fuels with your viewers. #ElementFuels #CleanEnergy
A big thank you to Sharron Melton and the KIAH-TV team for having me on-air this morning. It was a pleasure to discuss the exciting advancements we’re making at Element Fuels with our hydrogen-powered clean fuels refinery. Expected to be operational in 2027, our refinery will exclusively process high gravity domestic shale oil like that found in West Texas, producing low-carbon intensity fuels that significantly reduce carbon emissions. The facility will produce enough low-carbon hydrogen to meet 100% of the refinery’s fuel requirements, essentially eliminating CO2 emissions. This is a game-changer for clean energy and we’re proud to be at the forefront of the clean fuels transition. I’m grateful for the opportunity to highlight the work our dedicated team is doing to usher in the next generation of clean fuels. Looking forward to more conversations on how we can drive the future of energy. Click the link below to watch the full segment ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gSjYcx9h #ElementFuels #CleanEnergy

"Since no one's built a refinery in 50 years, there's probably a better way to do it. Let’s optimize it." - John Calce Naomi Klinge's article published today in the Houston Business Journal details exactly how Element Fuels plans to do just that. This insightful piece excellently captures the scale and significance of our initiative at the Port of Brownsville, South Texas. Our state-of-the-art refinery will process over 160,000 barrels per day of finished gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, leveraging the vast potential of U.S. shale oil which Edward Hirs, professor and energy fellow at the University of Houston, called “a good thing for national security.” The article also highlights the substantial economic and environmental benefits of our project, including job creation and a commitment to sustainability.
