Elevate is so proud to be a partner in this amazing coalition!

Heroin Task Force Quarterly Meeting Update: This week, we gathered with our community partners for an impactful meeting at #RogersBehavioralHealth in the Ladish Community Foundation Center in Oconomowoc. Special thanks to our facilitator Terri Phillips and our hosts at Rogers for providing the perfect space for collaboration and discussion. 🔹 Meeting Highlights: We kicked off with a walking tour of the Rogers Behavior Health facility, (thank you Sonya Garza). Attendees enjoyed a valuable networking session, which included creating "Cards for a Cause" with Stephanie Engle to support bereavement outreach for families affected by overdose. The main meeting brought together partners to share insights and updates on the ongoing efforts to combat the opioid crisis in Waukesha County. Thank you to all who participated, and a big shoutout to Rogers Behavioral Health for their continued partnership and providing a great space for us to meet in. Together, we are making strides toward a healthier community. For more information on the Heroin Task Force, visit: Elevate (elevateyou.org) #OpioidCrisis #CommunityHealth #Waukesha #HeroinTaskForce

BIG NEWS!  Elevate is excited to announce the appointment of Laura Roenitz as the new CEO, effective September 16, 2024. Roenitz brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to Elevate's mission. With a proven track record of leadership in nonprofit management, community development, and fundraising, she has previously served as executive director at Safe Harbor of Sheboygan and Kohler Foundation. Her innovative approach and strategic vision make her an excellent fit to lead Elevate into its next chapter. "I am honored to join Elevate and build upon the incredible foundation laid by those before me," shared Roenitz. "I look forward to working with the talented team at Elevate and our community partners to continue making a positive impact." Roenitz takes over the position previously held by Mary Simon, who served in the role for 27 years. Under Simon’s leadership, the agency has grown from serving individuals, families and communities in Washington County to supporting people in eight counties in southeastern Wisconsin. Laura Kohler, administration chair of Kohler Foundation, is grateful for Roenitz’ significant contributions and wishes her well in her new role. "Laura has served as executive director with passion and dedication since 2019. We sincerely appreciate Laura's years of service and the important contributions she has made as executive director,” she said. “We are confident that she will continue to have a significant impact in her new role with this strong organization. We believe in this important work that is vital to the health and well-being of our communities." Elevate's Board of Directors agrees that Roenitz’ leadership will usher in a new era of growth and impact for the organization. The entire Elevate community warmly welcomes Roenitz as the new CEO.

Wisconsin has taken another step forward to help people with mental health and substance use emergencies with the opening of five crisis stabilization centers for adults. Crisis stabilization facilities support people who can't stay in their homes safely, but don't need to be hospitalized. Funded by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), the centers provide a dedicated location for this level of care for most counties.
