Building on our success serving recent high school graduates in Los Angeles with Da Vinci Schools and Southern New Hampshire University, Rivet School is expanding our Bridge program to the Bay Area! With support from the Salesforce Foundation and Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, we’re collaborating with Oakland Unified School District and community organizations like Oakland Promise and One Goal to find our first cohort of students to enroll when we launch in this fall. The Bridge program is a more structured and community-based version of our Core program that’s designed for more independent working adults. Bridge students join a small cohort that meets weekly with their peers and College Coach, ensuring that they build the critical academic and executive functioning skills to succeed in the long term. When the program is complete, they will have earned their AA and BA degree through our university partner, and will be on track to secure a strong first job. I’m proud to see us bring this version of our model to the community where I live, and to Oakland students who deserve more paths to and through college. Curious to stay up to speed with everything Rivet School? Sign up for my monthly newsletter (link below) to follow along. A huge shout out to our Bridge Senior Program Manager Shelly Gleason for her leadership bringing this multi-year vision to life. https://lnkd.in/gw5gJeJ8
