About us
ELEVATE TOGETHER® powered by Round It Up America® is a nonprofit initiative designed to address systemic discrimination and historical racial disparities in business growth and profitability in Black and Hispanic communities. Through a partnership with the National Urban League’s Entrepreneurship Centers and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the initiative helps support Black and Hispanic small businesses with five or less employees. The ODP Corporation (parent company to Office Depot) is the initiative’s founding partner. The NCR Foundation also supported Elevate Together as a corporate partner in the initiative’s foundation year.

Yesterday, I had the honor of awarding $30,000 in grants to six amazing small business owners. Thanks Elevate Together, Sharu Goodwyn for your continued partnership. Capital is key. Without access to funding, entrepreneurs face significant hurdles to scaling their businesses and closing the racial wealth gap. Congratulations to the below grant winners whose dedication and hard work are shaping a better tomorrow: • Etos Connect – Vincent Valenzuela • Optics by Lee Studio – Jordan Lee • Resale Therapy – Althea Norwood • Living and Balance Wellness Center LLC – Marie Davis • Braidz4days LLC – Charity Bough • Community Mission AZ – Dawn Chisholm We must continue investing in underserved communities, and access to capital so that these businesses—and many more—can thrive. Celebrating Small Business Success! Last night, we proudly celebrated six new recipients from “Round 6” of the Elevate Together Grant Program, a grant program developed by Office Depot to offer much needed grants to local small businesses. The Entrepreneurship Center was honored to be ground zero for this illustrious program and since then (April 2022), we’ve had the privelage of awarding $220K to 22 small businesses over this time, empowering them to grow and thrive. This latest round featured six grantees and was no exception, with incredible entrepreneurs battling it out in a pitch competition to secure their spot. We’re thrilled to recognize: Marlisa G., Melissa Taylor, Muriel Conserve, Kimmoy Fung, Millissa Jayne, and Natasha Britton, MBA. Join me in celebrating these outstanding awardees for their hard work, innovation, and resilience. Your success is our success, and we can’t wait to see what you accomplish next! Special thanks to Office Depot and Sharu Goodwyn for her unwavering commitment to get cash into the hands of our local small businesses. Maribel Feliciano, AICP for her continued engagement and support through Broward county in paving the way for access in many ways to entrepreneurs in our communities. Our partners at TD Bank (Frank Lawrence, and Carlos Medina) for your support in helping to bring cutting edge programs to our clients. To the tremendous managers and team at the Office Depot location on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. To our very own Saisha Delevoe, a previous winner, for sharing her story and words of encouragement to the new grantees. To Ann Marie Sorrell, Mary Rhaburn and the entire MOSIAC Group team for planning the event (catered by a Perry Wings in Oakland Park). To the Urban League of Broward County’s EVP Courtnee Biscardi for her stewardship of the Central County CDC. As I introduced each winner it was a pleasure to highlight each individual success, milestone and growth while participating in our cohort training programs (including Bootcamp, Ubiz, and GovCon-Track). #ULBCEntrepreneurshipCenter #ElevateTogether #OfficeDepot #BusinessGrowth #CommunityImpact
