The International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) offers the highest level of training to elevator apprentices and mechanics across North America, including the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Guam. Through the Canadian Elevator Industry Educational Program (CEIEP), elevator apprentices in Canada receive comprehensive, hands-on training that prepares them for success in this demanding industry. CEIEP's national requirements, which exceed provincial standards, ensure that all graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their respective regions. CEIEP continues to innovate by integrating advanced technology into its curriculum, including virtual reality (VR) tools that enhance both safety and technical expertise. Under the leadership of Program Director Chris McIntyre and Technology Lead Vithu Selvakumar, CEIEP has successfully launched a 24-hour VR safety course that simulates real-world scenarios, providing apprentices with vital experience before they step onto job sites. The organization’s focus on developing digital and hands-on lab experiences positions CEIEP students to meet the evolving demands of the industry with confidence. As CEIEP continues to advance, their collaborative efforts with NEIEP in the US are poised to bring even greater technological improvements to both programs. With hundreds of IUEC-affiliated companies ready to meet your project needs across the US and Canada, the IUEC stands as a reliable partner for delivering professional, skilled elevator services. Even prior to the inception of the MI Helmets to Hardhats program, many Veterans found their way into the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC). The skills acquired in the military, such as punctuality, teamwork, leadership, and technical expertise, are highly transferable to careers in the elevator trade – this is why thousands of Veteran service members have found success within the IUEC. Veterans may enter the trade through various pathways, including the Helmets to Hardhats program, the National Elevator Industry Educational Program recruitment process, or through organizing efforts; they bring with them a strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, and technology-based disciplines. To further support Veterans and their families, the IUEC has established the Elevator Constructors Veterans Assistance Program (VAP). This initiative assists Veterans and their spouses in applying for the education benefits available through the GI Bill, as well as disability and other benefits they earned through their military service. 👏 Congratulations to IUEC-affiliated company TK Elevator and the elevator constructors in Local 131 for completing this unique modernization of the conveyances at Carlsbad Caverns National Park.
Taking you to the highest highs - and lowest lows! TK Elevator’s modernization project at Carlsbad Caverns National Park in the USA features two new traction elevators that descend nearly 67 stories underground at 700 feet per minute. These state-of-the-art elevators are designed to enhance visitor access to this World Heritage Site, ensuring safe and convenient travel for visitors, researchers, and park staff. Despite the unique construction challenges and sustainability considerations posed by the underground depth and location, our TKE team expertly navigated these obstacles to minimize disruptions. 👏 Check out what the IUEC elevator constructors from Local 25 did at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science! With over a million visitors a year, replacing four sets of escalators could have caused major challenges in managing people flow. Instead, the team of apprentices and mechanics at KONE worked with the museum to find a creative way to make the work in progress an exhibit of its own.
Ever wanted to see inside an escalator? 👀 When the escalators at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science needed modernizing, we made the project into an exhibition of its own to offer the visitors a peek into the moving staircase’s inner workings. And you can still take a look today! So, on your way from the fascinating exhibitions of prehistoric wonders to the engaging journeys to space, stop by at these everyday marvels! 🏛🦖🚀 Discover more about what went into this project: https://kone.ws/3WIscep #PeopleFlow

👏 The elevator constructors from IUEC Local 25 have completed Phase 1 of a major overhaul of the escalators at Denver International Airport - City & County of Denver Dept of Aviation. For a project involving complex mechanical work in such a busy, public area, you need a company that employs only highly-skilled, safety-conscious, reliable mechanics. TKE was a natural choice for the job.
We’re taking to the skies at Denver International Airport - City & County of Denver Dept of Aviation! 🛫 Our team recently finished the first phase of an escalator project. We modernized 16 escalators leading from the train platform to the main level in the B Concourse. Deftly working around passenger traffic, our team completed this phase before the busy holiday season. We are now moving into the next phase of modernization, which will last until 2026. Thanks to the entire team for making this such a success! #TKElevator #MoveBeyond #TKEairport #TKEescalator
