Ensuring accurate representations of obesity in the media is crucial to combat weight bias and stigma and break barriers to comprehensive obesity care. That’s why we’re working with Obesity Action Coalition to promote more accurate, diverse and humanizing portrayals of obesity through an immersive booth and panel discussion at #HLTHUSA. Your gender shouldn't impact the quality of your #CancerCare, no matter where in the world you live. Cancer is the world’s second leading cause of death, claiming nearly 10 million lives every year, but no demographic faces a higher disease and financial burden from cancer than women living in resource-limited settings in low- to middle-income countries. That is why we are financially supporting Global Focus on Cancer’s charitable work with City Cancer Challenge in their bold and ambitious new initiative “Cities Taking Action for Gender Equity in Cancer Care”, launched on the global #CGI2024 stage during #UNGA79. Spurred by the The Lancet Commission on Women and Cancer, it uses a localized approach to care to ensure the unique challenges of resource-limited communities in LMICs around the world are met with tailor-made solutions, prioritizing #GenderEquity.

People living with ulcerative colitis (UC) may face difficult symptoms such as bowel urgency. Our recent “Urgent Conversations” survey found that 84% of people living with UC struggle to find a public restroom during emergencies, and more than three-quarters have had an accident as an adult. Learn more about how lack of public restrooms impacts people across the U.S., including people with UC: https://e.lilly/3YpIABd

Health equity is the opportunity to attain the highest level of health for all people. This was a key topic at our annual diversity, equity, and inclusion conference, where a panel, moderated by Oprah Winfrey, discussed the broader inequities in health care. The conversation featured some of our leaders and a patient, highlighting the challenges faced by many living with obesity and other health conditions. We’re passionate about facilitating conversations that bring awareness to this issue because we’re actively working to make life better for those living with chronic diseases—and that means equitable access to better care for all. #WeAreLilly

Innovation doesn’t happen alone, and it doesn’t happen overnight. To make medicines that make an impact, our facilities focus on employee and patient safety while collaborating to develop new cutting-edge processes and systems. The hard work has paid off—congratulations to our team in Kinsale, Ireland for being awarded the global 2024 Facility of the Year by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering ISPE. #WeAreLilly

How many hours do you spend at work? For a lot of working adults, it’s how we spend most of our days. And while they say there’s more to life than work, everyone deserves a work environment that is safe, supportive and healthy—this includes mental health. #WorldMentalHealthDay is a reminder to promote and protect our mental well-being. We’re dedicated to providing a comprehensive benefits framework, access to high-quality mental health resources and support networks for our employees and their families. Everyone deserves a chance at better health—inside and outside the workplace. #WeAreLilly

Making an impact beyond medicine has been one of our hallmarks for nearly 150 years. Every September, thousands of employees leave the laptops behind and volunteer for our Global Day of Service, working to enrich the places we call home. This year in Mexico, we worked with an institution dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with cerebral palsy. Two hundred volunteers painted murals, built bath kits and transformed spaces into colorful, sensory-filled experiences. In Ireland, employees helped to beautify the gardens and grounds of an organization that supports citizens in their community, who come from all walks of life for support. And here in the U.S., our partner athletes Roderick Townsend—fresh off winning gold in Paris—and Chase Kalisz joined us to clean-up parks, pack delivery bags at a local food bank and help kids learn math by way of basketball. (Trust us, it works!) Our passion for helping our communities grow and thrive isn’t just a one-day thing; we’ll keep working to strengthen the places we love well beyond this day of service. #WeAreLilly

Solving the most complex medical challenges requires persistence—and big investments in bold science. Today we announced a new commitment of $4.5 billion to build the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a unique facility that will, for the first time ever, combine research and manufacturing in a single location. The Medicine Foundry will be located in the LEAP Research and Innovation District in our home state of Indiana. This significant investment - not only for Lilly Research Labs (LRL) – but across the industry demonstrates our commitment to efficiently making the best medicines from discovery to development, and then ultimately to patients. https://e.lilly/4dvidOw #WeAreLilly
