We are thrilled to share our latest guest article from Elite Worldwide President Darrin Barney, AMAM. Learn how to ease customer anxiety and build stronger, more trusting relationships. "No one gets excited about having to spend money on car repairs, especially when they’re unexpected. For most people, visiting an auto repair shop is a source of stress and anxiety. Customers worry about the cost, the inconvenience, and the fear that they might be taken advantage of. This anxiety starts the moment they hear an unfamiliar noise in their car and only worsens when they hand over their keys, often unsure of what will happen next. "For auto repair shops, addressing this anxiety is crucial. If customers leave feeling uncertain or uneasy, they may hesitate to return, seek second opinions, or share negative feedback with others. "On the flip side, reducing their anxiety not only improves their experience but builds trust and loyalty, leading to repeat business and positive word-of-mouth recommendations. We loved our shop visit yesterday to 15th Street Automotive in Puyallup, Washington, as part of our 2nd Fall Pro Service Peer Group meeting! Together, we examined every aspect of the shop—from team dynamics and systems to facilities, ROs, technology, HR, marketing, and more. We split into teams, ensuring our hosts walked away with tons of actionable insights to implement. At these visits, everyone wins! The host shop receives a robust action plan from some of the best shop owners across North America, while attendees gain knowledge from a deep dive into another shop's operations and proposed solutions.

We had a strong start to Day 2️⃣ of our Fall Pro Service Peer Group meeting here in Puyallup, Washington! 💪 Before heading out to our host shop visit this afternoon, we kicked off the day with an insightful presentation from industry expert Craig O'Neill of Autoflow! Craig made it clear: you cannot automate relationships! While technology and thorough DVIs are crucial, the personal connections we build with our customers are irreplaceable. He also shared three common mistakes with DVIs and how to avoid them, leaving us with valuable strategies to strengthen our customer relationships. A huge thank you to Craig and Autoflow for being here and sharing your expertise with us all! 🙌

SASA (Southern Automotive Service Association) a division of ASA had its first training event in Augusta Ga this past weekend. Even though it landed in the middle of 2 hurricanes the event was a success and great kickoff to this great networking group. Thank you to our partners at Elite Worldwide for a wonderful Service Writer class and Richard Falco that taught a great network diagnostic class. Also want to give a shout out to my fellow SASA board members for all of their hard work. Mary Steele, Mike Reynolds Aaron Clements and Tim Simmons. Looking forward to future training events.
