Elixir Kombucha

Meet August, the newest member of the Elixir team! Since many of you saw our pregnancy announcement we shared a few months ago, we wanted to make sure you knew that our little dude made it safely into the world and is thriving. We had no idea what we were in for. We took birthing classes so we kinda knew it on some level. But no amount of education can truly prepare you for how it feels to experience it. The birth process, the first time holding this tiny human, the surreal drive home from the hospital, our new, somehow heightened capacity for love, the first time he smiled at us, So. Much. Gas., the sleeplessness 😆 and much much more. It’s all incredible and dizzying and we couldn’t have more gratitude for his existence. We also owe a huge thanks to the rest of the Elixir team, who have been pulling extra weight during this early phase in August’s life. We have the best crew imaginable! And in case you’re wondering - yes, we are going to be those crazy parents that try to keep our kid’s face off of the internet. Wish us luck 😅

Fellow Highlands Kroger shoppers: your shopping experience just became a little more local! And this one hits particularly close to home for us - literally. It’s like a mile from our house. Plus, if you’re extra like us and will make a Kroger run for just an avocado - now you have another item to justify the trip 🤣 Head to the end of AISLE 15 and you’ll find a cute little fridge stocked only with Elixir.

Yall are keeping us busy! Just over a year into our new space, we had to make renovations to create room for more fermenters. One of these tanks will allow us to make an additional 7000+ cans of bubbly deliciousness (word? 🤔) per month! And knocking these walls out will give us enough room for several more. We probably can’t say “stay thirsty” so we won’t. Just keep doing what you’re doing 😉

Hey yall! Corey here. We don’t make a lot of personal posts but many of you have been following our journey since 2016, so we wanted to let you in on the news. I’m so happy to announce that my wife and co-founder, Danielle, is roughly 10 weeks away from bringing our first child - a boy - into the world!! I’m gonna dote on her for a moment - probably to her disliking cause she doesn’t seek the spotlight. Just one of the many reasons I love her, btw. Our fertility journey was lengthy. It took us 3 years to get to our first positive pregnancy test. Although we had our ups and downs, she never lost hope. She took it one month at a time with a mindset of persistence. She never gave up. She’s learned persistence over the 19 years of putting up with me 😆 and 8 years of running a business together, and determination served her during our many months of failed attempts. Also, as you can see in the photos, during her pregnancy, she has stayed very much involved in production and still manages to power through our exercise routines after work 💪 She can do it all and I’m so proud to be married to her! Today felt like the perfect day to reveal the news to our community for a few reasons. One is obvious - being Mother’s Day - and her looking forward to being a mother very soon. But Danielle also has a special role at Elixir - which we facetiously call the Mother Mother 😆. Among her many skills, as Mother Mother, she oversees the health and balance of our kombucha cultures - which are commonly called mothers. An imbalance in the cultures can result in an inability to produce new cultures. This role is crucial to the quality and consistency of our product - and Danielle is pro at it! There are many things - both within Elixir and without - that have come together to prepare Danielle for actual motherhood. We have been dreaming of this next chapter for many years and I am so grateful to be a companion to Danielle on this journey. We also owe huge thanks to our family, friends and employees, all of whom have lightened the load as we prepare for parenthood. We couldn’t do it without our community! Score a gut health GOOOOAAALLL with our Lavender Lemonade kombucha! Now available in the South Side Grab-N-Go Marketplace inside Lynn Family Stadium. Fans of Louisville City FC and Racing Louisville FC can now enjoy the same kombucha both teams have been sipping on at their training facility this season. Does our kombucha give them super soccer powers? Well, LouCity is 7-1 so far…just sayin 😉

Well this is a moment for us here at Elixir HQ! Recently, we received placement at 2 local Kroger locations!! 📍9501 Westport Rd 📍9440 Brownsboro Rd Three more will be added by 2/19: 📍Stonybrook 📍Mt Washington 📍Buckner - the new one! Needless to say, we are absolutely thrilled! And although our founders are the ones in the picture, there are many others who worked hard behind the scenes to help Elixir achieve this milestone. The top two questions we’ve received since launching Elixir in 2016 have been: - when are you going on Shark Tank? And - when are you getting into Kroger? No plans to swim with the sharks anytime soon, so this will have to do for now 😆 Huge thanks to everyone who was a part of making this happen! And next time you go Krogering, snag a can of Elixir from the local refrigerated cooler! Pro tip: it’s not with the other kombuchas. For now. If you have trouble finding it, just ask an associate!

Raspberry Limeade Kombucha A delicious collaboration between Elixir and Heine Bros Coffee. Now available at ALL Heine Bros locations and on Elixir’s website. More retailers coming soon! How did this collab come to be? In recent years, Heine Bros has been expanding their beverages beyond coffee. One of their favorite non-coffee flavor profiles is raspberry limeade. Enter Elixir, who moved next door to Heine Bros in the summer of 2023. Soon after, the new neighbors decided to join forces and formulate a knock-your-socks-off kombucha for the masses! After some experimenting, Raspberry Limeade Kombucha was born. An almost candy-like pop of raspberry, a squeeze of tart lime and a dash of hibiscus for a floral aroma and beautiful ruby red color. Gut health never tasted so good!

As we wait for 2024 to load, we’re reflecting on what has been the busiest, most exciting, most hectic, and - at times - most challenging year since our launch in 2016. We have so many reasons for gratitude - a new facility, bigger equipment, larger team, a community of investors, new distributors and retail partners, and about 100 other reasons! It’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind, but every time we hear “my gut was a wreck before I started drinking Elixir” or “your kombucha helps me maintain my sobriety” we are able to take a step back and remind ourselves WHY we are doing this in the first place. Gut health and alcohol moderation are two topics that are getting much more attention and as healthcare professionals turned kombucha brewers - we are here for it! A new year - and our favorite month, Dry January - is upon us! We have so many exciting things in the works for 2024 - new flavors, new retail launches (a few BIG names) and new partnerships.
