Elpis Africa

Elpis (ἐλπίς) means “Hope” in Greek. Elpis Africa was therefore formed to give hope to those who are facing adverse impacts to health and enduring economic hardship resulting from their involvement in artisanal mining operations. Elpis Africa's vision is to improve the quality of life for artisanal miners in sub-Saharan Africa and to catalyze their economic mobility at the local level. Elpis Africa's mission is to provide artisanal miners with access to high-quality affordable mining and safety equipment, operation and safety training, and mineral trading education that will stimulate economic development and promote a safe and healthy work environment.
