Make your sustainability programs a success by engaging your team with GetGreen.

About us

GetGreen was founded on a simple but compelling idea: sustainability programs succeed when team members support them. Yet many organizations struggle to engage their employees and other stakeholders. Their programs suffer without broad-based support. GetGreen solves this problem. We show employees where they should start and what they can do to reduce GHG emissions and help create a planet positive culture of sustainability for your organization. GetGreen helps companies engage employees in their sustainability initiatives, drive ownership across the organization and meet emission reduction goals and targets. We provide a full customized version of the platform for your team, and data and reporting tools for your reporting frameworks. The application is available in both the Google Play and Apple AppStore.

Utah State University Extension has partnered with Montana State University to create the Environmental Technical Assistance Resource Center, aimed at empowering under-resourced communities to access vital Environmental Protection Agency \(EPA\) funding. This initiative is particularly noteworthy as it focuses on supporting rural communities facing pressing challenges like air and water quality, food security, and the effects of climate change. For instance, local leaders can now navigate grant funding to launch projects that address these critical issues. Imagine community leaders, seeking a sustainable path for their neighborhoods, struggling with grant applications or unaware of available resources. The center's new programs, including urban farming initiatives and workforce development for youth, can significantly transform these scenarios. As Austin Holmes, the community resource and engagement specialist leading the initiatives, mentions, the aim is to bridge the gap between federal resources and local needs. While many may wrestle with access to these funds, the center assures support for communities eager to initiate impactful projects. What are your thoughts on these initiatives? How can we further empower our communities to tackle environmental challenges? 🌍 Let's engage and share insights or experiences related to community-driven environmental efforts! \#GetGreen \#CommunityEmpowerment \#Sustainability https://lnkd.in/dAuC-GE5

The relationship between climate change and extreme weather events is becoming increasingly clear as studies in attribution science highlight human influence on our planet's warming trends. As astonishing proof mounts, extreme weather has become more frequent and intense due to changes in our climate, not merely as isolated incidents. This connection is critical to understand as two-thirds of Americans recognize climate change’s impacts, linking record-breaking temperatures and devastating storms directly to human activities. In everyday life, many experience these changes first-hand. For instance, communities are grappling with prolonged droughts or relentless hurricanes, leaving them questioning how to best prepare for a shifting climatic landscape. As leaders in the travel and cruise industry, they must take note: how can they innovate to minimize their ecological footprint while still providing extraordinary experiences for travelers? Engaging in this conversation is vital. Did you know that July 2024 marked the warmest July on record, with many climate scientists pointing out that human-induced climate change has significantly increased the likelihood of extreme heat? 🌍 It’s a wake-up call for all sectors, especially those reliant on natural ecosystems like travel and tourism. The need for collaborative, actionable solutions is urgent. As we face these climatic challenges, what actions will you and your organizations take to advocate for sustainable practices? Share your thoughts and steps you’re implementing in your operations and planning. #ClimateChange #Sustainability #TravelIndustry #GetGreen https://lnkd.in/dHJHEV4A

The Tampa Bay Innovation Center - one of the cornerstone building blocks to help launch GetGreen.

  • GetGreen reposted this

At the Blue Pioneers Accelerator Program event in Monterey, I had the chance to meet the founder of GetGreen. This amazing app crowdsources the fight against global warming by empowering communities to take small actions that collectively reduce carbon emissions. For example, community members can choose to bike to work instead of driving, buy green products instead of meat, dry clothes outside rather than using a dryer, and more. Other ideas include for example options for optimizing when and where to train machine learning models, preferring data centers that use green energy over those relying on fossil fuels. As users make these eco-friendly choices, they earn credits and a "currency" that can be redeemed for various rewards. This innovative approach can also be applied within corporations, where employees can suggest ways to reduce CO2 emissions and generate projects. Ultimately, these initiatives could become part of Enterprise ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) projects, driving significant environmental impact. A day of super inspiration! Presenting to the amazing Blue Pioneers group on how technology can drive action and behavior change on marine conservation. The passion and dedication from the fellows for their projects is truly awe inspiring. Meeting a group like this provides so much confidence that people can solve our environmental problems. Thanks to the amazing set of fellow presenters Mark Radonich George Roth Adam Ratner and of course to Yuwei Shi for the leadership and the opportunity!

How's your leaf count this month in the #GetGreeApp??? If you earn at least 50 leaves this month your sustainable living efforts will go even further! GetGreen has partnered with the nonprofit One Tree Planted to plant a tree for every GetGreen user who earns 50 leaves during the month of June. One Tree Planted works worldwide to support global RE-forestation, combatting the effects of deforestation, wildfires, and climate change that have decimated our planet's green, oxygen-producing friends. All of the trees for the GetGreen June promotion will be planted in Oregon to promote healthier forests in the Pacific Northwest and replace those lost to forest fires and deforestation. #onetreeplanted #sustainableliving #Reforestation #ClimateChange #Oregon #PacificNorthwest #ForestRestoration #EnvironmentalConservation #GreenLiving
