Had an opportunity to participate in a congressional briefing that Joyce Hunter organized about cybersecurity and critical infrastructure needs for the Agriculture industry. This topic does not get enough attention. When we think about cyber attacks we immediately focus on industries like banking, healthcare, and energy (as we should, its important!) but our entire Agri-food supply chain is equally vulnerable. I had the privilege of leading a briefing for Hill Agriculture Committee staffers on the imperative of bolstering agricultural cybersecurity, focusing on the pressing threats and vulnerabilities in the sector. "Strengthening America’s Roots: Cultivating Resilience from Agriculture Cybersecurity Challenges" aimed to foster a deep understanding of the need to safeguard our nation's agricultural infrastructure, exchange expert insights on best practices and strategies for enhancing resilience and explore essential legislative and policy measures to protect the sector from evolving cyber threats. By arming staffers with indispensable knowledge, this briefing endeavored to ensure informed decision-making and proactive measures to secure America's agricultural backbone.
