🔬New Study on NECTIN4/CON1 FISH Probe 🔬 The NECTIN4/CON1 FISH Probe was recently featured in the study, "NECTIN4 Amplification Is Frequent in Solid Tumors and Predicts Enfortumab Vedotin Response in Metastatic Urothelial Cancer," which reports findings on NECTIN4 gene amplifications and their potential role in cancer therapy. Key findings from the study include: NECTIN4 amplifications are potentially frequent genomic events in muscle-invasive bladder cancer (approximately 17% in the TCGA bladder cancer data set) and metastatic urothelial cancer (mUC) (approximately 26% in mUC cohorts). In a cohort of mUC patients treated with Enfortumab Vedotin (EV), 96% of patients with NECTIN4 amplifications may show objective responses to EV, compared with 32% in the non-amplified group. Multivariable Cox analysis showed that NECTIN4 amplifications may lead to a 92% risk reduction for death in EV-treated mUC patients. The TCGA Pan-Cancer analysis demonstrated that NECTIN4 amplifications also could occur in other cancer types, such as breast and lung cancers, where the frequency is between 5%-10%. ERBB2 amplifications are linked to aggressive tumor behavior and higher metastatic risk, making its detection vital for effective research. Since its oncogenic effects were first discovered in 1987, ERBB2 has been the subject of thousands of studies, solidifying its identity as a critical biomarker in cancer.
