The legacy model of the Big 3 PBMs prioritizes rebates and volume over patient care, leading to higher drug costs for members and plan sponsors. This traditional model drives up claim volumes, often resulting in unnecessary medications being prescribed and increased expenses. In an announcement today, Medicare released a list of ten drugs with new, significantly reduced, prices as a result of the drug price negotiation program.
