    Deal renewal management was one of my top potential use cases for the new same object association features inside of HubSpot, and this week I had the opportunity to build it and see it in action.

😍 It turned out too awesome not to share. With a few workflows, a little custom code, and way too much time spent reading the new associations API documentation, we built a system to: 1) Automate the renewal deal creation process ⚙ 2) Automate the progression of renewal deals through the renewal pipeline ⏩ 3) Automatically associate all renewal deals back to their original deal and pair-label them accordingly 🏷 Check out the step-by-step process on how you can implement the same infrastructure (down arrow) P.S.     🎉 HUGE HubSpot Update! You can now associate CRM records of the SAME type. That's right - connect a contact to another contact, a deal to another deal, and so much more! 🛠️ What is it? Introducing the Same Object Associations feature. This allows you to link a CRM record to another record of the same object type, be it contacts, companies, deals, tickets, or custom objects. It's all about reflecting the intricate web of contacts and related companies in your business. 💼 Why does it matter? This update bridges the gap in HubSpot, letting you capture those essential business relationships. No more missing out on key connections. It's all about making HubSpot mirror the reality of your business. 🚀 How does it work? 1️⃣ On each record, spot a new section in the sidebar that mirrors the record type. 2️⃣ For Pro+ users, you can label these associations for clarity, like 'colleague' or 'student-teacher'. 3️⃣ Use these associations across various HubSpot tools, such as Imports, Calculated properties, the Custom Report Builder and Workflows. 🖱 Example Use Cases 1️⃣ Need to be able to easily associate an original contract with an upsell or renewal deal? Associate them and label accordingly. 2️⃣ How about associating all branch campuses to a main campus for a university or hospital system? Now you can! 🔎 Who Gets It? All Hubs and tiers can now do same object association, with Association Labels being locked behind a Pro+ subscription.
