Improving Pediatric Emergency Care Through Quality Improvement Initiatives
About us
Our mission: to optimize outcomes for children across the emergency care continuum by leveraging quality improvement science and multidisciplinary, multisystem collaboration. The Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Innovation and Improvement Center (EIIC) serves as a centralized national resource center for all EMSC grantees and collaborators by providing guidance, education and tools to increase pediatric readiness of the nation's EMS systems. Housed under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) within the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), the EMSC Program has strived for over 30 years to reduce pediatric mortality and morbidity across the nation. The EMSC Program currently funds three grant programs, including State Partnership (SP) grants, Targeted Issue (TI) grants, and State Partnership Regionalization of Care (SPROC) grants. The Program also supports the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN).
