As we continue to navigate unprecedented weather patterns, we are proud to be a part of programs such as the Santa Ana River Conservation and Conjunctive Use Program (SARCCUP) that involve a collaborative effort from Inland Empire Utilities Agency, Orange County Water District, San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District, and Western Municipal Water District to work on a future-proof water supply for the communities we serve. Thank you Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority for highlighting this and being a part of the effort: https://bit.ly/4h00i5T

We are nearing the end of Water Professionals Appreciation Week, and we are proud to continue to highlight a few of our employees who work behind-the-scenes to ensure our customers have safe and reliable services 24/7/365. Meet Joyce! Joyce has been with EMWD for two decades and began her water pro career out in the field reading customer's meters to check on water usage. Nowadays, you can still find Joyce out in the community, but this time at events talking to customers about EMWD services or behind-the-scenes creating one-of-a-kind graphics. #ThankYouWaterPros

Whether customers are calling to make a payment on their account or have questions about their water meter, we recognize that high-level customer service is equally important. Check out what customer service means to a few members of our team: 👉 #CustomerServiceWeek #ThankYouWaterPros

As we continue to celebrate Water Professionals Appreciation Week, we are highlighting a few of our employees who work behind-the-scenes to ensure our customers have safe and reliable services 24/7/365. Meet Gary. Gary works with our Water Reclamation team. He and his team ensure that our customers do not have to worry about the water that leaves their homes/businesses. Instead, it travels to one of our four reclamation plants where it gets treated and then beneficially reused almost 100% of the time. #ThankYouWaterPros

Congratulations are in order for Adán Ortega Jr. as Metropolitan Water District of Southern California reelected him to serve as chair for two more years. At Metropolitan's Executive Committee meeting, Jeff Armstrong, our representative on the Metropolitan Board made the motion to nominate Ortega to serve a second term. Ortega is a champion for unity and equity among the Metropolitan family of agencies, and actively advocates for the development of Met’s first Climate Adaptation Master Plan for Water. Ortega is the 20th Chairman in Metropolitan’s 94-year history and the first Latino chair. As a Met member agency, we look forward to continue working alongside Ortega for the next two years.

It's Customer Service Week! We asked our Customer Service Advisors a couple of questions that give us a better understanding about what motivates them to bring that high-level service to the customers we serve every day. #ThankYouWaterPros

In honor of Water Professional's Appreciation Week, we are highlighting a few of our employees who work behind-the-scenes to ensure our customers have safe and reliable services 24/7/365. Meet Beatriz from our Development Services Department. She and her team work with future EMWD customers to connect their homes and businesses to EMWD's services. With an average of 400 connections per month, we appreciate the work that Beatriz and our Development Services team do to ensure efficiency and accuracy with every connection. #ThankYouWaterPros

We were honored to host Director Karla Nemeth from the California Department of Water Resources for a roundtable discussion on the importance of water supply planning in California and the Delta Conveyance Project. As California sees more of these unprecedented weather patterns, we appreciate the leadership from Director Nemeth and her team in bringing forth projects such as the Delta Conveyance to secure water supply reliability for all Californians. A special thanks to Nina Hawk from Metropolitan Water District of Southern California for joining our panel and providing valuable insight to the discussion; and a shoutout to Miguel Luna for his remarks on these pressing topics. Thank you to all who joined us for this important discussion.

September ✅ Check out a few of our highlights from this past month: 🥇 We were honored with the "Recycled Water Outreach/Education Program of the Year" at the 2024 WateReuse California Conference. 📚 Our team attended the California Department of Water Resources' Water Education Committee Meeting in Sacramento to learn more about how we can grow our water education program. 💧 We had the pleasure of hearing a Colorado River update from Mr. Bill Hasencamp of Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. 🔭 We were proud to be a sponsor at the Science Under the Stars event held at the Western Science Center. 🚐 Our Hydration Station Van was in popular demand this month to help beat the heat at multiple community events throughout our service area. 🧠 We hosted our annual Wellness and Benefits Fair where current employees and retirees took advantage of Open Enrollment and Employee Assistance opportunities. We are ready to see what the last quarter of 2024 brings. 🙌

The Drop is back with a new episode. The September 30, 2024 deadline for Governor Newsom to sign or veto legislation is looming, and there are several bills and other pieces of legislation that EMWD is tracking. In this episode, we're joined by Pacal Cornejo-Reynoso, Senior Policy and Government Affairs Manager, to discuss state legislation EMWD is tracking and its impact.
