    In 2010, I started an Email Marketing & Lead Generation business called Market Share Solutions. Back then, we were seeing email response rates between 8% and 16%, depending on the product or service being sold. 15 years later, we're still taking an integrated marketing approach for New Client Acquisition by leveraging Social Media, Cold Calling, Networking, and Email Marketing ... but our cold email response rates are sub-1%. When we look at the data of where our clients come from, overwhelmingly, they're inbound inquiries from our followers on LinkedIn. Trust, Rapport, and Credibility. You can't 'blast' it. You have to earn it through a series of Wins and a big ol' stack of evidence proving you are who you say you are.

    Turn a loss into an opportunity cost A client of ours was looking to fill a few executive roles. I reached out to a few candidates who may be interested in new opportunities. I called up a VP who was actually a competitor of our client. He was happy where he was at and wasn't looking to move anytime soon. Completely understandable! So, I figured why not ask one more question to maximize on the opportunity. While I had him on the phone, I asked, "What about your company? Are you looking to fill any roles yourself?" He took a moment to think and said, "Actually, we have quite a few roles we're needing to fill. Engineers, transportation, accounting, HR, etc. Would you be able to help with that?" Me: "Absolutely!" Him: "We typically need very technical roles." Me: "Great that's our bread and butter. The more technical the better. Our recruiters LOVE a challenge." If you have any highly specific, technical roles that seem like a daunting task to fill.. BRING. IT. ON.
