Panasonic is building an electric vehicle battery plant in De Soto, Kansas. It's the largest economic development project in the state's history. According to the battery maker, over 3,000 craftworkers are on site every day building the facility — and that includes over 400 Enerfab personnel across all trades! Safety Tip: Did you know that 230 electrical-related fatalities occur every year? Each one is avoidable with the proper training. Electricity is everywhere, which means it is often taken for granted. Here are a few tips to avoid electrical accidents: 🔌 Before plugging in any device, inspect both the cord and the device for damage, corroded or bent plugs, cracks in the cord, or any frayed insulation. 🔌 If the tool becomes hot to the touch, sparks, or shocks, repair or replace it. (A qualified electrician should handle this!) 🔌 Keep cords away from heat and water. 🔌 Don’t overload circuits. 🔌 When working outside, be aware of your surroundings and identify any electrical sources in your immediate vicinity. 🔌 When using a ladder, remember to stay at least 10 feet away from power lines. I have always been drawn to the longshot scenario, where success seems unlikely. This project was no exception, with industry insiders deeming it impossible to fabricate a tower of this magnitude within the given timeframe. However, I believe that such challenges allow individuals to demonstrate their discipline, hard work, and unwavering focus. It creates opportunities for individuals to put in the extra effort required to achieve their goals, fostering a warrior-like mentality. Kudos especially to the engineering teams and welders on this project! While various individuals contributed in support roles, these two groups played an integral role in making the impossible, possible. Congratulations to all at Enerfab on a job well done!!
