📢 Major Update on the Overtime Rule! The Department of Labor has announced the final overtime rule, effective July 1, 2024. This significant change will increase salary levels for white-collar employees, impacting nearly 1 million workers initially and about 3 million by January 2025. 🔹 What’s changing? From July 1, 2024: The salary threshold increases from $684 to $844 weekly ($35,568 to $43,888 annually). For highly compensated employees: From $107,432 to $132,964 annually. From Jan 1, 2025: Weekly salary rises to $1,128 ($43,888 to $58,656 annually), with a jump to $151,164 annually for the highly compensated. 🔄 The rule also introduces an automatic update mechanism, starting July 1, 2027, to adjust these thresholds every three years without requiring the rulemaking process. 👥 Impact on Employers: Employers need to be aware of these changes and prepare for compliance. Also, anticipate potential legal challenges that might delay implementation. 🗓 Mark your calendars and start preparing now to ensure compliance.
