https://lnkd.in/eftyZQM5 Future US Labor Issues are Not Going Away Today’s job report appears to be very strong, but our labor force has some major issues. Most of the new jobs are in government, health care and social services. We are not creating goods or services that benefit our balance of trade. Moreover, our workforce is very old and up to 30 million baby boomers will be retiring within the next 5 to 10 years. Considering that our country only creates 1 million new jobs per year, this implies that in a few years we will likely see a net job loss. The growth of our economy and productive job creation, long term, should be our country’s top concern. My Forbes article below (and Fox Business discussion today) discusses in detail.

Last week’s jobs report came in below expectations, but should not really surprise anyone. More IT jobs are being outsourced to India and Eastern Europe and more bookkeeping, accounting and call center jobs are being outsourced to Philippines and Vietnam. Further, illegal immigrants are taking more low wage jobs for cash money.
