🌍 AI & Climate Misinformation: A Growing Concern 🤖 As we push for urgent climate action, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming a double-edged sword. While AI can help in climate modeling and environmental protection efforts, it also poses a risk in amplifying climate disinformation. Platforms like ChatGPT can unintentionally spread misinformation if not carefully monitored. This is particularly alarming for vulnerable regions like the Caribbean, where accurate climate information is critical. Disinformation campaigns around climate change could slow global and local progress on adaptation and mitigation efforts. To combat this, transparency in AI and public education is more important than ever. Let’s ensure that AI remains a tool for good, not disinformation. 🌱 Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/exy24nEK #AIForGood #ClimateAction #ClimateDisinformation #EPICCaribbean #Sustainability #AIEthics #ClimateAwareness #TechForGood #SustainableFuture #ClimateChange #ArtificialIntelligence #GreenTech #CaribbeanClimate #ClimateEducation #AIAndClimate

EPIC received a welcome update regarding Hurricane Beryl’s impact in the Grenadines. Our colleague Juliana Coffey of @grenadinesbirds interviewed citizen scientist Vaughn Thomas during a recent seabird survey. Based in Carriacou, Vaughn is a very dedicated member of the Grenadines Seabird Guardians and has continued surveys despite losing his home and suffering major damage to his boat. He notes that although the hurricane destroyed so much of the islands, he’s really happy to see boobies, terns, pelicans, noddies and gulls survived the category 4 storm. We agree, the resilience of seabirds is inspiring! As the strength and frequency of hurricanes intensify with climate change, it will be harder for nature to recover. It will take years, perhaps decades, for the Grenadines to recover from Hurricane Beryl, not just economically but also ecologically. #Grenadines #SeabirdConservation #CitizenScience #ClimateChange #SeabirdSurvey #Carriacou #WildlifeResilience #BirdWatching #EnvironmentalAwareness #HurricaneBeryl
