According to USAspending.gov, the Department of Defense (DoD) awarded $466.3 billion in defense contracts in FY23, a 10% increase from $424.1 billion in FY22. The top 100 contractors received $290.0 billion, or 62% of the total obligations, compared to $274.0 billion (65%) in FY22. This highlights the industry's high level of consolidation.
