The 'drone wars' are here. The rise of full UAS autonomy and sophisticated swarming technology is tipping the balance of power in today's area of asymmetric warfare. While other EW counter-measures struggle to keep pace with the integration of autonomy with weapons systems, Epirus HPM remains just as effective. More in Defense One ↘ https://lnkd.in/eR3cRpKQ

NEW. We have been awarded a $17M contract from the Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office for the development and integration of an upgraded sensor suite in support of the Integrated Fires Protection Capability High Power Microwave (IFPC-HPM) program. “The same ethos that brought our HPM systems to life in record time will drive the development of a sensing suite to increase the effectiveness of the IFPC-HPM systems prior to deployment. Whether it’s the detection technology or the effector, we are committed to developing the most effective system-of-systems to close the cUAS kill chain," said Epirus CEO Andy Lowery. We commend the Department of Defense’s initiative to prioritize countering small uncrewed aerial systems (C-sUAS) under the Replicator 2 directive. Ongoing global conflicts have shown that the drone threat is here and will continue to grow as things like AI-enabled drones resistant to jamming and swarms become ubiquitous on the battlefield. As a leader in solid-state high-power microwave (HPM) technology and counter-swarm capabilities, Epirus is uniquely positioned to provide scalable, tested, production-ready solutions to address these urgent threats as part of a layered-defense solution. Our scalable high-power microwave family of products, Leonidas, built specifically for counter-UAS operations, leverages a novel approach to HPM technology to neutralize drone swarms and single threats alike. By using directed energy, Leonidas offers a cost-effective and reliable solution to disable hostile drones at the speed of light, ensuring critical force protection for installations, assets, national critical infrastructure, and forward-deployed units. Precedent has shown through the MRAP Task Force that when the Department of Defense prioritizes a capability, there is no limit to the scale and speed in which the United States Defense Industrial Base can deliver for the warfighter. We look forward to contributing to the successful execution of the Replicator 2 initiative and working closely with the DoD to advance operational capabilities and ensure force protection in the face of growing C-sUAS threats.
