For smaller, precise batches, the formulation follows an easy mixing ratio of Part A (100 pbw), Part B (60 pbw), and Part C (1 pbw), with a practical pot life of 50-80 minutes at 20°C. However, handling the components may require slight adjustments: in cold weather, Part A can solidify into a wax-like form and should be heated to 50-60°C to remelt. Part B also needs thorough stirring before use to ensure consistent results.   Application with standard 1-component airless spray equipment makes this elastomer highly accessible, and its PTMEG-based backbone ensures flexibility and excellent resistance to abrasion and chemicals. I recently had the privilege of attending and presenting at the FAPU Polyurethane Elastomer Conference in Linz, Austria, specifically tailored for suppliers and processors. It was a fantastic opportunity to exchange insights with key players in the industry, learn about the latest advancements in polyurethane technology, and discuss innovative solutions for production processes. During the presentation, we highlighted the some of the most common problems experienced in Cast Polyurethane Manufacture and the solutions to these problems. The conversations and collaborations that followed were very interesting, and I’m excited about what the future holds for polyurethane manufacturing in Austria, Germany and beyond.
