During the AWS Welding Summit in August, which happened to fall around InduSuite's (an ESAB brand) launch of FloCloud, a cloud-based gas monitoring software, Curt Rocha, Global Product and Business Director Gas Equipment at ESAB, presented on the importance of gas flow monitoring, sharing insights from a case study involving ESAB's collaboration with a shipbuilding company to install gas pressure sensors and flow monitors. The findings showed that through data analytics software that displays gas flow and pressure data and welding data in near real-time, ultimately identifying the source of leaks and operator training needs, large operations, such as the shipyard partner, would be able to avoid significant financial loss annually. To delve into further insights, read Rocha’s piece on American Welding Society below. #AWSWeldingSummit #GasControlEquipment #ESABCorporation

Do any of your KPIs include monitoring shielding gas use? Could you assign cutting gas costs to a bill of materials like you do metal costs? Are you sure welders adhere to the WPS? Are you certain every cubic foot of gas purchased actual reaches its point of use? Probably not. True insight into process gas consumption is like the gas itself: invisible.  Like any KPI, if you can’t measure gas use, you can’t manage it. Unfortunately, the cost of wasted gas can easily add up to six or seven figures in large enterprises with more than 100 welding or cutting stations or high-volume automated laser, plasma or oxy-fuel cutting operations.  ⬇️ Click below to read important insights into gas flow management, shared by Curt Rocha of ESAB, upcoming speaker at the #WeldingSummit.

By the turn of the century, ESAB had cemented its role as a leader in the global welding industry and continued to innovate and introduce important new products. The Integrated Cold Electrode (ICE) was a revolutionary new process for increased productivity in submerged arc welding (SAW). The OK Flux 10.72 was developed specifically to meet the impact requirement of -50 degrees Celsius in the welding of wind towers and gave ESAB a significant advantage over its competition. Later, ESAB introduced high-speed submerged arc welding with ICETM and other industry-shifting products and productivity solutions,, such as Smart MIG, WeldCloud, Edge 2.0, Rebel AC/DC, Robust Feed, Fit+ 3, Rouge, Sentinel, Renegade, Velocity2, Versotrac, VacPac, CM40, and InduSuite. From 2012 to 2019 the company completed more than 25 acquisitions including Victor Technologies, WestArco, Soldexa, TBi Industries, EWAC, Thermal Dynamics, and GCE – reputed brands with distinguished histories of their own. The addition of GCE meant the portfolio medical gas and specialty gas industry for the first time, establishing an adjacency business that augmented the company’s expertise in manufacturing, safety, and gas flow control in industrial fabrication. #ESABCorporation #ShapingtheWorldWeImagine #120YearsStrong

ESAB experienced a definitive period of growth and expansion with acquisitions throughout the Eighties and Nineties, which ultimately converted ESAB into a leading global welding company. In just a 10-year period, ESAB acquired 26 companies including Airco and L-TEC Welding and Cutting Systems (inventor of the plasma arc for cutting in 1955), which ESAB identified as an ideal, complementary industry leader. Almost overnight, ESAB became the second-largest welding systems supplier in the United States. Significant acquisitions in the nineties included Alloy Rods Corporation and All State Welding Products in 1990 and AlcoTec in 1995. The nineties marked ninety years after the inception of ESAB, bolstering its formidable portfolio of welding, cutting, and automation solutions. #ESABCorporation #ShapingtheWorldWeImagine #120YearsStrong

ESAB experienced major portfolio expansion in the 1960s, with resistance welding machines, the famous A6 automatic welding system, and automatic welders for submerged arc welding and semi-automatics for gas metal arc welding. ESAB also delivered its first synchronous generator for shipping vessels and brought the OK 48 P, now known as the OK 48.00, to market. The 1970s were characterized by sustained market leadership in Europe and booming shipyards. ESAB was steadfast in introducing its now iconic black-and-yellow brand logotype, initiating production of robot welding systems, and establishing footholds in South Africa, Iraq, Angola, Algeria, Portugal, and Turkey. #ESABCorporation #ShapingtheWorldWeImagine #120YearsStrong

Last month, ESAB Mexico in Monterrey celebrated outstanding achievements from the second quarter and inaugurated their new EBX hub, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards operational excellence. And as part of the celebration, the region launched Formula EBX, an ideas competition inspired by the excitement around Formula One. ESAB Mexico saw remarkable participation in Formula EBX across various departments, including purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, T&E, and finance transformation. These teams worked diligently to streamline processes between accounts payable and purchasing, introduced new SAP features for faster approvals, and improved controls and tracking in Accounts Receivable operations. Congratulations to ESAB Mexico and all the winners of Formula EBX! #ESABMexico #AlwaysImproving #ESABCorporation #ShapingtheWorldWeImagine #EBX
