📢 On January 7, 2025, the CTAO (Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory) was officially established as the 29th #ERIC by the European Commission, marking a major step in advancing gamma-ray astronomy. This milestone strengthens the Observatory’s legal framework and accelerates the construction of over 60 telescopes across its two sites in La Palma, Spain, and Paranal, Chile. The EU will invest €224 million in 31 new projects that are expected to deliver state-of-the-art technology, resources and services to the benefit of the entire research community. With their outcomes, the new projects are expected to facilitate ground-breaking innovation in the areas of #ClimateChange, #Pollution, #Health, and astronomy. More concretely, the new funded projects should contribute to: - Advance next generation of scientific instrumentation, tools and methods and digital solutions - Develop and optimise the European Research Infrastructures landscape maintaining global leadership - Enable an operational, open and FAIR (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reuse) EOSC Association ecosystem Projects have just signed their Grant Agreements with the European Commission and are starting their activities.
