Ethos Civil

Getting helicopter rides isn't the only reason we hire veterans. But we take them when we can get them! Our very own Sergeant Mac (aka Trevor McDonald, PE) took Andy Epstein, Don Mellott and Lucas Johnson for a ride on Employer Flight Day sponsored by the 2-135 General Support Aviation Battalion. Did some nap-of-the-earth flying occur? Did Lucas need that motion sickness bag? Did they fly under or over the Tacoma Narrows bridge? Inquiring minds want to know. The bar has been set pretty high Noah Burlingame. When do we get a ride in a F-16?

Last week, I wrapped up my 12 week internship with Ethos Civil. It was an amazing hands-on experience that gave me a glimpse into the life of a civil engineer. I worked on various tasks, from basic redlines and plotting sheet sets in Civil 3D to gathering applicable agency codes and working on storm reports for different districts and cities throughout Washington, Montana, and Idaho. I also had the opportunity to get out of the office for several site visits, where I observed fish passage projects, parks, schools and parking lots throughout the construction process. A huge thank you to the Ethos Civil team for providing great insights and a supportive learning environment. Even more so, I got to experience a company culture that is both inspiring and committed to supporting its employees. This experience has been invaluable in deepening my understanding of civil engineering practices and reinforcing my passion for the field. Excited to carry these skills forward into future endeavors!

We've been really pleased with our new office so we were excited to welcome old and new friends to our open house last night! Thanks so much to everyone who made the trip. Starting a new business is a formidable endeavor. At nearly three years old and with the growth and support we have in the community it's really sinking in that we can do this for the long term and we have a bright future. The open house last night really drove that home. The crowd was in a complimentary mood last night. Here's my (Mike's) favorite quote from the evening, "You're not a pain in the a$$ to work with." Thanks Jeff. 😉 So, cheers to working with you all for a long time to come and not being a pain in the you-know-what.
