A huge thank you to Eugene Weekly readers for voting our Y the Best Place to Get Fit in Eugene! We are beyond grateful for your support and love! 💪❤️ A special shoutout to our AMAZING Health & Wellness team (swipe to see them all together!)—their passion, dedication, and care make all the difference. Whether it’s our wellness attendants, personal trainers, or group fitness instructors, they bring their best every day, and we’re so thankful to have them as part of our Y community. We also want to give a big congrats to the talented Ila Rose for being named Best Artist! 🎨✨ Ila’s incredible Sasquatch mural between the North and Movement Studios, and her collaboration with Nicole Sherwood, proud Kalapuya descendant and member of the Confederated Tribes of the Grande Rode, to honor the Kalapuya people in our Kalapuya Community Room, have brought so much beauty and energy to our space. Never is the power of the Y more apparent than when a community is in need. Right now, cities and towns across Florida and the southeastern US are dealing with the historic flooding, storm damage and devastation caused by hurricanes. YMCAs and Y camps are currently hard at work, supporting their communities—even as they work to recover from significant damage to their facilities. They need your help. Please consider donating to YMCAs affected by Hurricane Helene and Milton. Your gift will help them repair and rebuild, provide support to their staff as they deal with the crisis both at work and at home, keep programs running for their community, and provide additional support like emergency child care or food distribution. Give to the YMCA Hurricane Relief Fund: https://lnkd.in/gPEiNxhT Thank you for sending your support to our YMCAs in need. ❤️

Thank you, KEZI 9 News, for covering the grand opening of the Amazon Emergency Water Station. Made possible by a partnership between Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB), City of Eugene, and your Y, this emergency water station will be able to provide clean water to our community in the event of a natural disaster. "I think it's critical that we have these partnerships between public entities and private entities because they each can come to those partnerships with their own strengths and as we are being vulnerable and sharing where we could also have an opportunity for support—that's where the magic can happen." —Brian Steffen, CEO of the Eugene Family YMCA Watch the coverage: https://lnkd.in/gZn_DANd #YintheNews
