What are Rochester’s CRE lenders seeing in terms of the strength of different sectors heading into 2025? Scott W. DeVinney, vice president CRE relationship manager at Evans tells us. Some of what DeVinney is seeing right now is the continued strength of the warehouse, multifamily and industrial sectors. “Industrial continues to be very sought after, but with one caveat,” DeVinney said. “There is some cooling in the modern, high clear height industrial space.” Self-storage, which was red-hot for a time, is normalizing to pre-COVID rates and occupancy, DeVinney said, but Rochester is still under market. “We are seeing Millennials who may be renting smaller apartments use self-storage as an extension of their homes,” he said. “It’s a very interesting trend and one we expect to continue.”
