Transforming EU Buildings into Smart, Efficient Energy Hubs for a Sustainable Future

About us

EVELIXIA, a groundbreaking initiative uniting 36 high-profile organizations from 12 EU nations, is transforming the way we envision buildings. Our vision is to turn them into Active Utility Nodes (BAUNs), setting new benchmarks for the EU building stock. We're on a mission to make buildings energy-efficient, connected through two-way communication between the grid and occupants, smart with analytics supported by sensors and controls, and flexible, adapting energy use to occupant needs and utility considerations. Our innovative approach is structured along five key pathways: Building-to-Grid (B2G) Services, Grid-to-Building (G2B) Services, Human-to-Building Interfaces & Interactivity, Systems Interoperability, and Innovative Hardware as Flexibility Enablers. These pathways are the backbone of our project, guiding the integration, deployment, and validation across seven large-scale, real-life pilots in Greece, Romania, France, Finland, Spain, Austria, and Denmark. This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement number 101123238.
