Is it ethical to not read a patient chart? This question was posed during a panel at Becker's Healthcare IT and RCM conference last week by Dr. Ken Nepple and I've been thinking about it ever since. The expectation is that providers read the medical chart before every visit. The reality is that most charts are hundreds (if not thousands) of pages while the average doctor's appointment is 10-15 minutes at best. Unless your physician is capable of reading hundreds of pages per minute, this math doesn't work out. This is an opportunity for technology to solve a true problem in healthcare. #ai #digitalhealth #healthcareai #ethicalai
