  • Register Now for a Free CE Webinar: https://hubs.la/Q02S24t70 “It Takes a Family: The Impact of Family Participation in Teen Substance Use Treatment” with Ellen Urtecho, LCSW, and Lindsey Behrens, CADC III, ICADC. This webinar provides an overview of how teenagers struggling with substance use benefit from family involvement throughout their time in treatment. This training will invite clinicians to explore with families how the identified patient and family cycle through the progression of addiction together; how they impact one another and have influence over one another through an integrated experience. We will introduce research on family homeostasis and the importance of disrupting homeostasis in substance use disorder treatment. This webinar draws from key research on treating substance use in teenagers and evidence-based interventions such as psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, contingency management, and relapse prevention planning. We will provide clinicians with practical examples of how relapse prevention planning and contingency management can impact the recovery process in the home environment. • Meet Ellen, Ellen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working with Evolve since 2021. Since joining the team, Ellen has gained experience as a Residential Counselor, Associate Therapist, Primary Therapist, and is now an Associate Clinical Director. Ellen has worked with individuals who struggle with mental health and substance use disorders as well as families struggling to support their teens with maintaining safety and sobriety. She works directly with families to build insight as to how the family dynamic can impact the client, as well as how family members can work to influence the dynamic by further reflecting on their family strengths and struggles. She loves the challenge of determining what individualized treatment looks like for each teen. Ellen has a deep appreciation for the people she works with and the brilliant clinicians she has learned from over the years. Clients seem to appreciate her patience and her willingness to listen to their needs, especially in moments when they feel most unheard. She also holds a lot of compassion for those who may be more outwardly oppositional or challenging. Outside of work, Ellen enjoys rock climbing, hiking, spending time with her family, and cooking! Get ready for a presentation featuring Ellen, where she’ll present “It Takes a Family: The Impact of Family Participation in Teen Substance Use Treatment.” Visit https://hubs.la/Q02Sx-RW0 to register. #teenmentalhealth #teentherapy

  • National Grief Awareness Day raises awareness of the different ways grief can manifest and how it can affect one's mental health and day-to-day life. It encourages individuals to support themselves and their loved ones during the grieving process. It is important to check in with ourselves and those who may be grieving, identifying areas where support may be needed. While grief can look different for everyone, some helpful practices include taking care of your physical health, practicing self-care, leaning on loved ones for support, and seeking help from a professional. Loss is never easy, especially during adolescence. We want to remind you that help is available, and we are here to support you. #griefawareness #griefawarenessday #greifcounseling #griefsupport #teenmentalhealth #mentalhealthsupport
