𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗸™ 𝟮𝟳𝗣 The bioactive peptide that makes formulating for real collagen production a lot more innovative, and a lot less irritating. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗸™ 𝟮𝟳𝗣? Retinol is widely considered the gold standard of anti-aging components—but it doesn't actually construct the collagen matrix. What the industry really needs is an ingredient that supports the natural production of valuable, foundational type 1 collagen. Luckily, we are pioneers in natural peptide discovery. Activated Silk™ 27P supports the natural production of type 1 collagen, allowing skin to visibly elevate its own firmness and ultimately reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Activated Silk™ 27P is gentle enough for sensitive skin and everyday use—including sun exposure—and it avoids the side effects and stability issues often associated with common collagen ingredients. This bioactive peptide can power a formulation on its own or supercharge existing formulas containing retinol or vitamin C. And it’s ready for you now. Get your hands on the new gold standard for pro-collagen type 1. Contact us at support@evolvedbynature.com to get started. https://lnkd.in/gBkvb-w2

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗸™ 𝟯𝟯𝗕 The bioactive peptide that lets you put clinically proven barrier boosting claims into any formula you can imagine. And we bet you can imagine a lot. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗸™ 𝟯𝟯𝗕? This innovative ingredient supports the natural production of claudin, a protein that helps strengthen the skin barrier to effectively lock in moisture and keep out irritants. Often overlooked, claudin is crucial for binding the top layer of skin. Without it, skin barrier cells can loosen, leading to inflammation and visible signs of aging. External factors and internal aging can diminish claudin production, but Activated Silk™ 33B encourages skin to naturally produce it again. This ingredient benefits all skin types—even sensitive and eczema-prone skin—making it look and feel healthier, firmer, and more youthful. Non-occlusive and water-soluble, Activated Silk™ 33B performs where ceramides and petrolatum fall short. It anchors well in a variety of formulations, including serums, moisturizers, and water-based sprays. And its unique ability to remain on the skin after rinsing also makes it ideal for soaps, body cleansing products, and below-the-neck applications. While traditional soapy ingredients wash away, Activated Silk™ 33B stays on the skin and continues to deliver its benefits. Activated Silk™ 33B is ready to enhance your skincare products. Humans’ centuries-long quest to create newer, shinier products causes us to waste valuable materials we’ve already made. Upcycled ingredients are the key to more sustainable design – saving energy, cutting waste and emissions, and offering amazing results. Skincare makers are increasingly turning to upcycled ingredients as a more natural, sustainable alternative to newly manufactured ingredients. Rather than spending the energy and resources required to create new materials, innovative formulators are saving fresh byproducts from being wasted by other industries, particularly the food industry. Incorporating these abundant, yet often overlooked, natural materials requires innovation and inspires creativity. For skincare, this means entirely new kinds of products, offering impressive results for skin health – while being much more sustainable. At Evolved By Nature, we create Activated Silk™ bioactive peptides by sourcing silk cocoons that are discarded by the aquaculture industry. It’s hard to imagine that raw silk would ever be thrown away by the ton, but less goes to waste now that our biochemists have found this new use for it. And with it, skincare makers and consumers are able to naturally support skin barrier health in a uniquely effective way. To be clear, when materials go to waste, it’s more than a shame, it’s harmful. Food waste alone contributes to 8-10% of greenhouse gas emissions – even if it comes from products labeled natural, organic and sustainable. Critically, upcycled ingredients contribute to a circular economy, which strives to avoid wasting materials throughout a product's entire life cycle – making them vastly more sustainable than conventional ingredients. And increasingly, as sustainability becomes more important to consumers, marketers can benefit from the legitimate sustainability claims that upcycled ingredients can bring to their product labels, setting them apart from greenwashing competition. For example, our Activated Silk™ bioactive peptides are naturally derived, biodegradable, cruelty-free, non-toxic, made from a renewable resource, and not formulated with petrochemicals. While the market for upcycled cosmetic ingredients is growing, with a global valuation of $231.5 million in 2021 that’s expected to more than double within ten years, many consumers are still unaware of their benefits. But as with all matters of circularity, the answers lie in thoughtful, innovative design. The more that skincare makers choose upcycled ingredients, the more efficient their sourcing and manufacturing will become, and thus the more accessible their uniquely effective products will become. In the meantime, this exciting new era of discovery has only just begun. It’s a valid question. And if you are vegan, it’s simple: vegan skincare is the right answer. But when brands use the term “vegan” to market a product, it implies with a wink some suggestion of sustainability. And that’s where the answers get much more complicated. Because “vegan” ingredients can be any alternative to animal-based. And unfortunately those ingredients are often derived from petrochemicals or other harmful synthetic sources. Microplastics and other non-bio-based materials can qualify as non-animal based. Obviously they wouldn’t qualify as sustainable. For obvious reasons that have been covered in conversations everywhere you look. So this brings us back to the original question. Is vegan skincare the right answer? We actually are experts on sustainability. Not the simple catchphrase version of it, but the more in-depth, very complex, real and rigorous version of it. Because it’s all we’ve done for 10 years: build a company, a technology, and products around both the understanding and the actual practice of being “sustainable.*” And it is our expert belief that circularity is the more sustainable and healthier principle to organize around, for people and the planet. Circularity is the model that focuses on minimizing waste and optimizing resources throughout an entire production and consumption cycle. Materials never become waste and nature is regenerated. This does sometimes include the animal component of nature. And, some sustainable technologies contribute to a circular economy while not being vegan. For example, Activated Silk™ peptides are naturally derived. Silk is a material created by an animal, much like milk or honey. It’s a certified cruelty-free, non-gmo, upcycled resource from the food sericulture industry; designations that are extremely important to both government and industry standards in North America and the EU. Activated Silk™ technology is made from a renewable resource with renewable energy, using processes that limit the carbon and water usage vs. other ingredients. Not only are we not disrupting the natural cycle, we might be preserving it. Nature always beats petrochemicals, and our Activated Silk™ peptides are non-toxic, non-carcinogenic and non-mutagenic. Better for people and better for the planet. And they are clinically proven to do exactly what they say they will do. Another thing to consider when you ask the question: Is vegan skincare the right answer? Activated Silk™ bioactive peptides are scientifically explained and clinically proven here: https://lnkd.in/eQ5cQyaK *Visit evolvedbynature.com for detailed substantiations and certifications for all sustainability claims.

Nature always beats petrochemicals, and our natural ingredients include these two powerful peptides that provide safer, more sustainable alternatives to synthetic ingredients. And these are just the beginning…. They’re both Activated Silk™ bioactive peptides, designed to empower skin to care for itself – by supporting the skin’s natural production of valuable foundational proteins. And since we created them to replace harmful petrochemicals, all Activated Silk™ bioactive peptides are gentler on people and the planet. Activated Silk™ 33B-a supports the natural production of claudin protein to boost the barrier to better lock in moisture and lock out instigators that can lead to inflammation. It helps all kinds of skin – even sensitive and eczema-prone skin – look and feel healthier, firmer and younger. Non-occlusive and water soluble, Activated Silk™ 33B-a works in places ceramides and petrolatum cannot. It can anchor a wide array of finished formula applications. And its unique ability to stay on skin in rinse-off products makes it especially effective in cleansers, spf, and body creams and sprays. Activated Silk™ 27p-a supports the natural production of type 1 collagen, the most prominent and valuable form of collagen in the dermis. It visibly elevates skin firmness and tightness in as little as 28 days** – without the side effects and product stability issues often associated with common collagen ingredients. This bioactive peptide can power a formulation on its own, or supercharge existing formulas containing retinol or vitamin C. Next up, we’re launching new Activated Silk™ bioactive peptides this fall, backed by amazing clinical data, and as always: sustainable*, naturally derived, biodegradable, cruelty-free and made from upcycled materials. Come see them for yourself this fall at cosmetics and skincare trade shows. We’re excited to talk skincare science with new and existing partners from small startups to major brands. Until then you can learn more about our chemistry and the clinical proof it’s creating at https://lnkd.in/eQ5cQyaK *The manufacturing of Activated Silk™ contributes to achieving U.N. Sustainable Development Goals. For info, visit sdgs.un.org/goals **Based on a clinical study of 31 subjects using 0.5% Activated Silk™ 27p-a over a 28-day period.

Peptides are THE skincare buzzword of 2024. And that’s a good thing.  And while not all peptides can guarantee results, some are proving to be powerful natural ingredients in almost any formulation, even products made to wash away. We’re a company built on peptides. So naturally we have some passion for the topic. For now we’ll just humbly say that designing peptides involves some very beautiful, very complex chemistry – and thus, all peptides are not created equal. A peptide that’s been thoughtfully designed to benefit skin in a specific way can deliver vastly more significant results. Take for example, Activated Silk™ 33B, one of the first in our library of bioactive peptides. Activated Silk™ 33B boosts the skin barrier to help it keep moisture in and irritants out, which makes it a great ingredient for serums, moisturizers and the like. And it’s water soluble, so it can go in formulations where ceramides and petrolatum cannot. Doing a better job in more formulations than synthetic ingredients, because nature always beats petrochemicals.  But wait, there’s more. This peptide stays on skin even after rinsing it off. There are many cleansers that claim to boost the skin barrier. And countless soaps that promise moisturized skin. Now think of washing your hands – with a product that touches your skin, then goes down the drain. No matter how peptide-packed that product is, it’s not doing much for your skin. When Activated Silk™ 33B bioactive peptides stay on skin after rinsing, they’re able to boost your skin barrier between washes, helping skin look and feel more smooth, hydrated, healthy and youthful – even sensitive and eczema-prone skin.* A skincare ingredient that doesn’t go straight down the drain is a major first for rinse off products like soaps and cleansers. One that we’re really proud of, and excited to see shine in new products to come. Experience it for yourself by picking up some hand soap or body wash at https://lnkd.in/e5MD9ZdG, and learn more about our natural ingredients at https://lnkd.in/eQ5cQyaK. *Based on a clinical study of 30 subjects using the body wash over a 7-day period.

It’s surprising that most leather today isn’t really natural. It’s been around naturally, amazingly, literally forever. But as we’ve found ways to make it more useful over the years, we’ve made it less natural too. With PFAS, aka forever chemicals. This is news to most people. It’s disappointing and it’s dangerous. And here’s the thing, it’s not necessary. PFAS are added to leather in the finishing process. That’s the chemical treatment that protects and enhances leather’s look and feel. Leather finishing has been around for centuries. But in the 1950s, PFAS became standard in the recipe, along with polyurethane (plastic) and other toxic petrochemicals. PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) put us at risk across the planet. They threaten health in and around manufacturing environments. When brought home in consumer goods, they enter our water and indoor air supplies. And once disposed of, the chemicals stick around for centuries. Leather is the rare industry that could actually decrease PFAS now. After all, it existed long before these chemicals arrived. And with an output of 20 billion square feet per year, its impact is consequential. So we’ve spent a lot of time figuring out how to make leather more sustainable. Leather like it once was: a naturally occurring, renewably sourced, biodegradable material that’s a byproduct of food production.   Tapping our bioactive peptide library, we created the Activated Silk™ L1 biofinishing system. This chemistry uses zero PFAS, and in the near future, zero PU (polyurethane). It also greatly reduces the carbon output of leather finishing. And the crazy bonus on top of that? L1 leather is more naturally beautiful, durable, breathable and water resistant than petrochemical-laden leather. Removing the last traces of hazardous chemicals from a multi-billion-dollar industry is becoming a reality. The L1 biofinishing system is already at tanneries on three continents, creating products you may have already seen on shelves. You just didn’t know it, because it looks and feels as beautiful as ever – minus all the forever chemicals.

Your skin can take care of itself. You just need to turn it on. Nothing enhances the natural beauty of human skin like appreciating the science inside that keeps it that way. It’s an intricate system of regulation and renewal. But the vital proteins that fuel these processes all decline in production as we age – proteins like collagen, claudin and involucrin. Combining natural resources and peptide chemistry, we’ve designed a platform of bioactive peptides that rally skin’s sleepy protein producers to get back on the job and behave like your younger skin did. Empowering skin from within is called bioactive regulation, and it’s the most naturally effective approach to skincare. It gets to the root of issues that cause the signs of aging and unhealthy skin, rather than masking symptoms like its synthetic competitors. Our Activated Silk™ 27P bioactive peptides, for example, support natural production of type 1 collagen, triggering skin to elevate its own skin firmness and ultimately reduce the appearance of wrinkles.* All of the naturally derived peptides in our bioactive library are biodegradable, formulated without petrochemicals, cruelty-free, non-gmo, non-toxic,** and made from a renewable resource using renewable energy. All to offer clinically proven skincare that’s more safe and sustainable. You can learn more about our natural ingredients by visiting https://lnkd.in/gwNAGeuq or contacting support@evolvedbynature.com. *Based on a clinical study of 32 subjects using 0.5% Activated Silk™ 27P-ɑ in a leave-on product over a 28-day use period. **Based on completion of HRIPT, heavy metal testing, ASTM D5338 biodegradability and aquatic toxicity testing.
