ERP Implementations require a lot of experienced people who understand the process. I've been lucky to meet a group of trainers from diverse backgrounds, unique skill sets, and I know they would knock your socks off! I'd love for them to land somewhere great.

Question: Is your company going through an Oracle or other ERP Implementation? Do you have expert trainers already on deck who can guide SME's? If not, you're in luck. Send me a note, I'd like to chat!

    Support your local art students!

Following up on my previous post... High school, I shared with you was a, um, creative path. After that, I did go to a great university and received a degree. a BFA. What is that? You ask? For many years, I'd tell someone it was a fancy, pretentious, and intellectually heady degree that was expensive and completely useless. A Bachelor of Fine Arts, which, apparently, carries more prestige than the other art degrees. I'd say it with some drama and scorn like I was about to follow up the statement with a request to order a martini, extra dirty. Okay, so maybe a little pretentious.* Recently, I've started to see the value in ways I never thought I would. Why should an organization support a school in the arts? Some students will be the creative masterminds behind startups, others behind creating products and some will be the creative team your org needs to launch to the next level. Some of us, won't. But, we'll understand how to deal with ambiguity, out-of-the-box problem-solving, power (soft) skills, collaboration, communicating abstract ideas, curiosity, play, and overall grit. I've never been more happy that my background is in the arts. Although the value was always there, I wasn't able to see it until recently. Creating evrecruit.io has been like a complex assignment. Beautiful, and also full of challenges requiring all kinds of expertise from many corners. Okay, so I have a concept and a philosophy. Now, how do I get from here to there? It feels like the creation of something special that affects others, and I want you all to get to be part of the installation. I want to thank the panelists, Kelly DeVore, Ayuka Shichinohe, Tobias Katz and Laura K. for all of their valuable insights and Catherine Lang-Cline for on-point moderating. Melanie Corn for the inclusion, Kristen Harris, CSP and especially Jamie Wells for the invite. And, Nicole Monahan for sharing more ways to support CCAD. CCAD is reaching out the the community in a fundraising capacity but also welcomes other ways to collaborate, including giving interns a place to land and other educational opportunities. Connect with them to learn more! *Note: Very grateful to my school, professors, parents, and the support system that led to graduation, and this immature colligate attitude in no way should detract from that acknowledgment and appreciation. I simply had some feelings, as the millennials say. I also passed Astronomy. *

This is officially the first time I've closed up shop due to a sphere of hot gas in the sky and cool shadows. 🌞 🌚 Since it's a little unusual, I've decided to follow suit with something... a little unusual... I've opened up Saturday and my calendar is free for anything and everything! Really! Are you a new hiring manager with questions like, "What is it like working with a staffing partner... how does it *really* work"? An HR partner interested in local events, hiring trends, or a talent partner interested in networking? A future candidate looking for job-seeking advice, pep-talk or a resume review? Another entrepreneur looking for cool ways to collab? Just want to say "hi"? Casual. Grab a coffee (or a cold one), and let's chat. I'll add times as slots book, but you have to book fast! Considering core values this evening, and asking how these vary among individuals and companies. We talk about "culture fit", but the reality is that focusing on culture fit often results in a more homogenous grouping of individuals. A values fit casts a wider net of perspectives, and at the same time, deeper relationships. But, they have to align among parties in every kind of working engagement. I'm curious about how values fit into your picture. Please share!

Recently, I posted about belief systems... what about values? What are your company values? Personal values? Do they align? How do you see them show up? Specifically, how do you encourage them inside an organization, or see values resonate with others outside of the organization? How do they influence your hiring practices as an organization? Or, if you're on the hunt for a new opportunity... do they influence your search?

Founder | Networker | Idealist: Helping clients cultivate fantastic teams, and professionals hit new career milestones!

For as long as I can remember, the drive to an Easter family gathering always looked like country roads, narrow and flat, with stubs of corn leftover from summer in the fields, and mud everywhere. The occasional daffodil and a blush of pink through branches of wooded areas blurred by, but no leaves on the trees. New calves near barns with their mothers, and weeds in the ditches a little greener. Sometimes sun, but almost always rain either starting or stopping. The drive has looked the same for 39 years. Even when I was a teen in the back seat, I would occupy myself on the drive considering the many spring religious/spiritual holidays worldwide that focus on reflection, transformation, recommitments, harmony, and community, all having a belief system to support this idea of new beginnings and the renewal that spring brings from dormancy. I was a weird kid. Today, as I made the drive sitting with those very same thoughts that I have every single year on the drive, I thought about two things: 1.       The belief system. The importance of having one. In the context of work (this is a LinkedIn post after all). It’s different than a mission statement. It’s that thing you hold close to your heart. For example, I believe in the deepest part of the soul that everyone deserves career happiness. The journey to find the right manager, the right company, the right role, and the right parameters, is winding, but with those things in place, anyone can fly in ways even they, themselves, underestimate. 2.       Regeneration. What it takes for spring to bloom from this muck is so much rain. So much wind. Warm days, freezing days. The wind to rip the buds from budding leaves is violent. Early spring feels like mud. It feels like allergies. It feels like the mornings and evenings are still too cold. Wet, and gray too often. Then there’s a warm sunny afternoon and we rush to patios and trails in clothes that aren’t quite warm enough, but it’s enough to make us feel our skin breathe again. In the context of those who have been laid off, or attempting to change a career path entirely, or to get out of a working situation that isn’t allowing full flight and feeling that sense of angst… that’s spring. Regeneration isn’t the pretty stage. It’s the fight from dormancy, and it’s both a mess and a fight. With a belief system in place to maintain perspective… almost like an invisible mental framework to new beginnings, it’s one of the most beautiful fights you’ll win. Celebrate, because your spring is on its way! 💡 I’d love to hear what belief systems you have in place. Please share below! Is this relatable? If so, I made a long drive country road playlist just for you! ✨ Spotify link in comments ✨ (PS: Not all songs in the list may be young children friendly, and songs will update/change/rotate over time)
