EXA4MIND at the Data Spaces Symposium 🤩. Katerina Slaninova from IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center and Smaran Chaudhary from Leibniz Supercomputing Centre attended the Data Space Symposium, held in Warsaw on 11-12 March. They were placed in an exhibition booth used to present the project to more than 800 people attending the event. In addition to discussing EXA4MIND, the symposium was the perfect setting for the partners attending to network in the data spaces community and gain the information needed to link the project's outputs to dataspaces. #DataSpacesSymposium #DataSpaces #ExtremeData #HorizonEU #EXA4MIND

📢 SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATION available | Cross-Lingual Learning vs. Low-Resource Fine-Tuning: A Case Study with Fact-Checking in Turkish. → While misinformation is prevalent in other languages, the majority of research in this field has concentrated on the English language. Hence, there is a scarcity of datasets for other languages, including Turkish. This research has introduced the FCTR dataset, consisting of 3238 real-world claims. This dataset spans multiple domains and incorporates evidence collected from three Turkish fact-checking organizations. Additionally, it aims to assess the effectiveness of cross-lingual transfer learning for low-resource languages, with a particular focus on Turkish. ✅ This work is part of the EXA4MIND's objective to support the mitigation of bias and equity in AI. ✍ EXA4MIND consortium member PINAR KARAGOZ, together with Recep Fırat Çekinel, both from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University, and Cagri Coltekin from University of Tuebingen. Tha paper was presented during the 2024 Joint International Conference on Computational Linguistics, Language Resources and Evaluation (LREC-Coling). 📖 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/dN3nyAUu #CrossLingual #Datasets #AI #ScientificResearch #HorizonEU #EXA4MIND

📣 Discover the new autonomous driving method to predict future movements of nearby objects by valeo.ai! Valeo.ai Valeo team, a member of the EXA4MIND consortium and leader of the project's industrial application case, has developed a new autonomous driving method for predicting the future movements of nearby objects. It is called 🚗'Valeo4Cast: A Modular Approach to End-to-End Forecasting'🚗, and it is one of the methods or solutions that participated in the AV2 2024 Unified Detection, Tracking, and Forecasting Challenge, organised by argoverse. → Valeo's approach to autonomous driving focuses on a modular method for motion prediction, dividing the problem into detection, tracking and forecasting to improve performance. This strategy outperforms traditional end-to-end prediction methods. Read more about Valeo.ai's new autonomous driving method here ➡ https://lnkd.in/dWVMx-MW ➕ Valeo4Cast: A Modular Approach to End-to-End Forecasting' is the result of extensive and innovative research supported by EXA4MIND, which will be used, among other things, to develop, demonstrate and improve the industrial use case for EXA4MIND. #AutonomousDriving #Industry #MotionPrediction #Research #HorizonEU #EXA4MIND

📢 NEW SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATION available | DocSpider: a dataset of cross-domain natural language querying for MongoDB. → This study uses large language models to create a cross-domain natural language to document database query dataset, DocSpider, leveraging the well-known text-to-SQL challenge dataset Spider. As a document database, the authors use MongoDB. Furthermore, they conduct experiments to assess the effectiveness of the DocSpider dataset to fine-tune a text-to-NoSQL model against a cross-language transfer learning approach, SQL-to-NoSQL, and zero-shot instruction prompting. The experimental results reveal a significant improvement in the execution accuracy of fine-tuned language models when utilizing the DocSpider dataset. ✅ This work was supported by EXA4MIND and it is part of the EXA4MIND Extreme Data processing platform. ✍ Authors: Arif Görkem Özer, Recep Fırat Çekinel, Ismail Hakki Toroslu and PINAR KARAGOZ from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University. 📖 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/duA4EGh6 #NaturalLanguageQuerying #Database #Dataset #ExtremeData #EXA4MIND #HorizonEU
