We had a fun and productive session in downtown Portland yesterday at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Portland owners' lounge offering a luxurious setting for our August meeting. PDX Executive Assembly member and best-selling author, Lindsey Anderson facilitated the group discussion on social media marketing. She also announced the release of her latest book, The Unlaunch Method. Congrats to Lindsey and many thanks to Terry CEO at LUXE Forbes Global Properties, Paul Trakarn and Nick Eckelman of Luxe Forbes for their generous hospitality. #portland #downtownportland #ritzcarlton #leadership #executiveleadership #socialmedia #socialmediamarketing

Last week, special guest Robert "Bob" Day, Chief of Police for Portland, joined the PDX Executive Assembly monthly meeting at the historic Heathman Hotel Portland in downtown. Instead of asking what is being done by the police bureau, we "flipped the script" by asking what we as a community of local business executives can do to support the bureau in its vision for a safe city. The session covered topics such as community engagement initiatives, corporate partnerships as well as how technology and innovation can make cities safer and more efficient. The session underscored our group's 2024 theme of courageous leadership and served as another example of the growing partnership between Portland businesses and its civic leaders toward a vibrant, safe and prosperous downtown. Executive-level content, engaging workshops and inspirational speakers made for a memorable and moving experience at this week's PDX Executive Assembly annual leadership conference. And The Allison Inn and Spa served as a delightful setting to connect and recharge. Dudley Slater started the day with a fireside chat about the tenets of his Fusion Leadership book. University of Portland professor Jon Down enlightened us on the challenges and opportunities of integrating AI into the work streams of our teams and organizations. Deneen Andrades of Alliant Insurance Services inspired the crowd on how to lead teams through change when an organization chooses to pivot its strategy. Executive coach Kate Cockrill, MPH, ACC highlighted how leaders can benefit from self-awareness and how different leadership styles can complement one another to reach a team's full potential. Sherry Cadsawan and Jennifer Greenberg, MBA, ACC from Talence Group | Executive Search & Consulting showcased their proven methodology of identifying leaders who can propel an organization forward. Many thanks to the speakers who spoke to our theme of courageous leadership and engaged us in captivating conversation. We're looking forward to more peer mentorship and community at our May monthly meeting. #leadership #portland #pdxexecutiveassembly #courageousleadership

PDX Executive Assembly was well represented last week at the #WeBelieveInPortland downtown cleanup! In addition to a team of our own, many other members joined their respective companies and organizations as nearly 1,000 participants cleaned-up downtown Portland. The event ended for us with lunch at an iconic Portland restaurant! Many thanks to Ryan Buchanan (Thesis) with Thesis, Frank Moscow with AdoptOneBlock and the many other sponsors for their support and leadership. #Leadership #DowntownPortland #CommunityService #Volunteering #AdoptOneBlock

Special thanks to our panelists Alex Hausman from Google, Liz Zadovsky from Ecochallenge.org and Howie Cockrill from The Opus Group. The event was facilitated and moderated by PDX Executive Assembly members Colleen Murray and Kate Cockrill, MPH, ACC. Memberships are still available.
