After recent elections, leading industry associations shared their priorities for the newly-elected political leaders in Brussels in London. 🔵 In Brussels, the European Exhibition Industry Alliance, in collaboration with visitbrussels, City Destinations Alliance | CityDNA, and JMIC Joint Meetings Industry Council, published Meetings Industry Manifesto: Priorities for the Next EU Leadership, which highlights the industry as a "positive impact sector" throughout Europe: https://lnkd.in/efwvuiWy. 🔵 In London, UKEVENTS (Org), the umbrella organization for the UK events industry, unveiled its manifesto, which has three key priorities: developing a nationwide events strategy, tax allowances, and tying major events with government priorities: https://lnkd.in/eM2_-E3A. Around the world, advocacy that advances the business events industry's priorities is taking center stage. 🔵 TSNN - Trade Show News Network recently published a blog post on recent global advocacy developments and key priorities across geographies featuring Barbara Weizsäcker, Marsha Flanagan, and Martin Sirk: https://lnkd.in/eGVU4btM. 🔵 James Latham from The Iceberg recently released two videos on advocacy efforts taking place in Brussels and Washington, DC: https://lnkd.in/gUBHegVQ.

Once upon a time, three industry stars from Florida walked the halls of Congress at #ECALAD... and then recorded a podcast together! 🎙 Check out the latest episode of the #ExperienceBuilders podcast where host and ECA board member Chris Griffin talks about #AI in the #businessevents space with Jordan L. Walker 🌎 and Hunter McKinley 🛸, the co-founders of Backtrack - AI Booth Sales Assistant. 🎧 Listen here: https://lnkd.in/ejuhESxs 📺 Watch here: https://lnkd.in/eYX56sFK Good things happen when you come to Washington, DC for #ECALAD! 😀

Last week, the U.S. House Committee on Ways & Means passed a bill that would expand qualified expenses under tax-advantaged Section 529 savings plans to include postsecondary training and credentialing. ECA applauds this effort because we believe that this legislation would transform 529 plans from college savings plans into 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙧 savings plans... including for those who will not be pursuing a college degree... and help workers secure in-demand, good-paying jobs in our industry. Want to learn more? Read this written statement for the record that ECA submitted on this important issue here: https://lnkd.in/eXm3Fj_5. ECA will continue to support policy proposals like these on Capitol Hill that help the industry attract and train our next generation workforce!

As the week draws to a close, ECA would like to celebrate the recent retirements of two of its co-founders: Bob Priest-Heck and David DuBois. The advocacy work of the #businessevents industry would be where it is today (or be at all!) without the vision and tireless efforts of these two industry titans. Thanks to their leadership, ECA is here to serve the industry and tell the story about how our industry drives economic growth, supports job creation, empowers small businesses, and helps solve our most urgent societal challenges to the policymakers that matter. While ECA hopes it's more "See you later!" than "Goodbye," 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗕𝗢𝗕 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗔𝗩𝗜𝗗 for your commitment to ECA and the industry's advocacy mission.
