Take a good look at this empty document, because after this weekend's two-day workshop, the Writers' Room artists will have marked this up with their ideas, hopes and wishes for their new work together. Some people find a blank page horrifying. We are holding our breaths in anticipation. Bring it on! #collaboration #ontheprecipice #whoknows

We just released some additional tickets for the 10/7 Janet Frame at 100 event at Mabou Mines. Grab em' quickly if you can! Should be a really interesting conversation about Frame and a great chance to preview music from the new opera, Rainbird, which will premiere in April 2025. Guests at the event include EiO Artist leader and Rainbird composer Aaron Siegel, Mabou Mines and Restless NYC artistic director and Rainbird librettist and Stage Director Mallory Catlett as well as author Simon Van Booy. https://loom.ly/bX6do_U

Our third Writers' Room project, Five Ways to Die, premiered just this past June at HERE with new work from eight diverse artists. This show was our triumphant return to the theater after two virtual Writers' Room projects and it was wonderful to be in the same room as everyone. I mean, it was a show about death, but it was still awesome!

Next Up in our tour of all things Writers' Room, we are highlighting our largest project to date, the epic, 10-part, made-for-TV opera Everything for Dawn. This project was such a labor of love for so many people and it remains one of the most poignant articulations of our vision as a company. You can watch all ten episodes on All Arts for now until eternity! https://loom.ly/PDkIf9c

In advance of the premiere of Rainbird in April 2025, EiO, Mabou Mines and Restless NYC invite you to join us for a celebration of Janet Frame on the occasion of what would have been her 100th Birthday. There will be music from the upcoming opera (based on a Frame novel) as well as conversations with Rainbird creators Aaron Siegel, Mallory Catlett and celebrated author Simon Van Booy. https://loom.ly/bX6do_U

With the start of our fourth Writers' Room just three weeks away, we thought we could take a trip down memory lane to celebrate the first three iterations of this collaborative project. First up: Aqua Net & Funyuns! Smack in the middle of our COVID shutdown, we assembled eight artists to produce a podcast opera. We recorded all of the instruments remotely and had a very mask-heavy recording session, but the end result is really fantastic!! Listen in today: https://loom.ly/jMvuOug
