On a mission to visit EVERY country. So far, 110 of 197. 🌍🌎🌏
About us
My goal is to travel to all the countries of the world. I count 197 countries, starting with the United Nations list of 193 and adding Taiwan, Vatican, Kosovo and Palestine. For the rest of my life, I want to see and experience as much of the world as possible, while documenting it in photographs and observations. Travel can be too far away, exotic places or to a close neighborhood you have not seen. I live in New York City, perhaps the most exciting city in the world, with extreme diversity which constantly changes. This blog will also explore neighborhoods and culture in NYC, especially the performing arts and areas not touched by travel guides. I am working on a photography book on the NYC subway which I hope to publish soon. Through this endeavor, I found for a token fare, you can find interesting things to do and see 24/7.

Mauritania is a country most people can’t find on a map. The few who are familiar with the name often confuse it with the very different Mauritius. It’s a large country and not particularly far to fly to from Europe and the United States, yet it’s one of the least visited. I’m mystified why, as there’s so much to see in its expansive deserts and long Atlantic coastline. #exploringedtravel #exploringed #exploreMauritania https://lnkd.in/gbwvWbP5

The southeast tip of Africa is an amazing place for multiethnic cultures and geographical peculiarities. Lesotho is one of only three countries surrounded by another, in this case South Africa. Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) is one of only seven countries surrounded by two countries (Mozambique and South Africa). Durban has over one million ethnic-Indians, making it one of the largest concentrations outside of India for a city. Clarens is an artist haven named after a village in Switzerland. #SouthAfrican #exploringedtravel #exploringed https://lnkd.in/gATEarje

This trip to the Indian subcontinent was arranged around attending the Kumbh Mela the first two weeks of February 2019. Before I arrived, I spent a few days in Mumbai. After I left the Kumbh Mela, I met Khadija, Peter and Caitlin to tour Sri Lanka, then the Maldives. What surprised me was how few tourists there were. Of course, they were submerged in the masses, but I went hours without seeing obvious Westerners or non-Indians. https://lnkd.in/gizifYCW

This was the fourth and final leg of our journey in Sri Lanka in February and March 2019. My wife Khadija and I said goodbye to our friends Peter and Caitlin who were off to the Maldives to rest from our non-stop, two-plus weeks of travel in Sri Lanka. Khadija and I had two full days to explore the capital of the country. https://lnkd.in/d8pySSC

For decades, Madagascar was on my bucket list. I had seen pictures of breathtaking mountain and forest landscapes. I was enthralled by the fact this island separated tens of millions of years ago from Africa and India and its flora and fauna evolved differently than the rest of the world. I pictured a giant Galapagos Islands but inhabited by a unique culture that was different from the rest of Africa. #travelitinerary #exploringedtravel #exploringed #madgascar #exploringmadagascar https://lnkd.in/djrDQBv

Solomon Islands – Remote Island Life, World War II Relics and Ocean Adventures Solomon Islands is one of the least visited countries in the world. According to the Solomon Island National Statistics Office, since 2010, the country only had between 20,000 and 25,000 annual visitors, about half from Australia. Only about 30% were tourists, the rest came for business, to visit relatives and friends or were in-transit. #exploringedtravel #solomonislands https://lnkd.in/gCdcuyEs
