Alumni and Foundation Office at Itawamba Community College
Itawamba Community College will honor its 2024 Distinguished Service Award recipient Johnny Crane during Homecoming activities, Oct. 17, at the Fulton Campus. Crane, cofounder of FL Crane and Sons, and his family have served as role models for Northeast Mississippi for many years. His generosity and support include significant financial contributions along with personal commitments as well as the devotion of countless hours to the success of charities, churches, schools and civic organizations throughout the region. A living testament to their generosity and love for the College is located on the site of the “old” football field, the Crane Pavilion, which was established and formally dedicated in 2010. He was a member of the ICC Foundation Board from 2004-20. Crane’s honors include ICDC Business Person of the Year, Boy Scouts Yocona Silver Beaver Award, ICC Alumnus of the Year, Good Citizen Award, McLean Award for Philanthropy, Mississippi Associated Building Contractors Hall of Fame, Construction Man of the Year and President. Additionally, on his long list of community involvement are ICDC president, Port Commission, Leadership Itawamba, Harden House, Boy Scouts, Private Industry Council for Job Training Partnership Act and significant support of ICC and Mississippi State University in his contributions to their facilities, scholarships and educational programs. He and his wife, Bessie Lynn, have three children, Chip (Jenny) Crane, Jacqueline (Kenny) Petre and Dixie (Kirk) Presley; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The award recipients will be honored during a special ceremony at 4 p.m. at the Davis Event Center and presented during the ICC/Holmes pregame activities, which begin at 6:30 p.m.

Today, we are showcasing another project we got to be a part of located on the University of Alabama Campus! The building you see here is the USGS Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility that officially opened its doors just last week. This space will aid in major water research and technology, which is crucial for our nation’s future and water resources. Our Tuscaloosa team installed the metal studs, drywall and acoustical ceilings on this particular project. We are very proud of the craftsmanship our crews produced here, as it took much ingenuity to work around the water tanks inside the building. All projects have their own complexities, but the end result is always worth it when working with our great teams! #FLC #bama #watertechnology #metalstuds #drywall #accousticalceilings

With school now in full swing and football season on the horizon, it is the perfect time to highlight one of our past SEC sorority projects! The Delta Zeta house, currently featured in a Wall Street Journal article, is a project that our Tuscaloosa Division had the opportunity to be a part of. Our teams installed the metal studs and drywall on this particular sorority house pictured here. Our crew had a blast this past weekend at the AGC of Mississippi Convention at the Grand Hotel in Fairhope! As current president of AGC, Cam with C. The annual ABC Convention took us “Back to the 90’s” with some classic country denim, 90’s vibes and fun in the sun! The weekend events included lots of pool & beach time, great food, and fireworks, as well as the annual SCK volleyball tournament - all while networking with our fellow Mississippi contractors. This is an event we look forward to each year and is extra special because our families get to tag along and enjoy the fun! 2024 convention did not disappoint.
