Salt Lake City, UT - Facade Tectonics World Congress was the best Facade-related event I've been to! Thank you Ajla Akšamija, PhD and Facade Tectonics for organizing this event in a new location and venue. There were so many scholars and industry giants that, at times, I felt like an impostor and we're not "there yet" but we "can hang" :) I've met many amazing people and attended awesome presentations, where I've learned so much about new facade technology and sustainability. I have many new ideas on sustainability and how to represent the opaque side of the facade segment at these events. 2026 world congress, here we come! I had an incredible experience at the Facade Tectonics 2024 World Congress, hosted by Ajla Akšamija, PhD and the University of Utah School of Architecture in Salt Lake City. It was a true honor to share our recent work at 200 Park Avenue in San Jose, and its performance-driven design approach that focuses on occupant comfort, tuned solar control, minimized operational carbon, and an absolute dedication to craft. I came away from the event really inspired by the academic research, leading edge technologies, and novel yet practical design solutions to some of society's toughest challenges. It was amazing to feel the passion from the international facade design community to further FTI's mission to accelerate change in the performance of built environments. In addition to the invaluable knowledge exchange, one major added benefit: reconnecting with many old friends and industry colleagues in addition to making all kinds of new connections. Already looking forward to the next edition!
