A group of U.S. manufacturers recently filed antidumping and countervailing duty petitions on overhead door counterbalance torsion springs from China and India. If these duties are imposed, importers of these springs may face additional costs, which could lead to higher prices and possibly a reduced supply for consumers and businesses that rely on these components. Investigations by the U.S. Department of Commerce are expected to begin on November 18, 2024. You can learn more in this alert by Douglas Heffner, Richard Ferrin and Carrie Bethea Connolly.
