I help women in engineering progress to leadership roles by overcoming feeling stuck, frustrated, or powerless through a structured process that empowers them to take control of their career growth.

When I was 8 months pregnant with my second child, I applied and interviewed for my first management position. I’ll be honest—I doubted myself. Would anyone take me seriously? Was I crazy to think I could take on more responsibility while raising a family? But I did it anyway—and got the job. That’s why I’m so excited to share this new episode with Alex Stevens Love, who took on a similar challenge but at an even higher level. Alex was promoted to VP of Marketing at Riva Solutions just weeks before giving birth to her first child. Our conversation is one I wish I could have heard back then. It’s raw, inspiring, and full of real strategies for any woman wondering how she can really balance career growth with a growing family. 💥 In this episode, Alex shares: • How she built trust and credibility with senior leaders despite the timing. • What she did to advocate for herself and make a solid case for promotion. • Why building relationships is key to overcoming biases women face in leadership. • And how to maintain your ambition without sacrificing what’s most important to you. If you’ve ever doubted whether you can grow your career and raise a family simultaneously, this episode is for you. ❤️ 📌 Click the link to listen and share with someone who needs to hear this story! https://lnkd.in/gJvtiCpY ✉️ 𝗗𝗠 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅'𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 #WomenInTech #CareerGrowth #Leadership #Podcasting #WorkLifeBalance #WomenEmpowerment

This week on Mastering the Art of Failing, Alex and I chat with Karen Eber about how to craft the perfect story (or why soft skills are critical to your success. While our typical episodes highlight how people overcome their own failures and challenges in life, Karen has a long history of helping guide people through their communication gaps, and we wanted to tap into that expertise. So I'll leave this little nugget here for you, but you can watch the full clip for more context. The full episode is in the comments. "Even if it's a story that you've told several times, you can take it and adjust it for people. If a story doesn't feel meaningful to us then we tune out. But if we feel like it is directly designed for us, then that's going to make us pay more attention."

My daughter is going to have a lot of media credits to her name before she enters pre-school. 😂 So thankful to have incredibly flexible coworkers, cohosts, and guests who welcome Summer's thoughtful babbles on meetings and recordings. I think its fair to say she'll give me a run for my money once she's old enough to hold conversations. 🎙 Another episode of Mastering the Art of Failing is in the works! Greatly enjoyed Elliot V. and I's conversation with Karen Eber yesterday. Don't miss the episode when it drops. Hit the subscribe link below. ⬇
