Fairbanks Morse Defense is thrilled about the commissioning of the USS Beloit (LCS-29) on November 23rd! This event marks the beginning of the vessel’s journey to protecting the freedom of the seas and serves as a proud representation of Beloit, WI.
So excited to finally share this news!! So many people are working feverishly to get this ship commissioned next month! The USS Beloit will be commissioned in Milwaukee, Wis., on Saturday, November 23, 2024, the U.S. Navy announced today. The announcement is here: https://lnkd.in/gwiKJwbV The USS Beloit Commissioning Committee has been preparing for the Commissioning Week events. Over $400,000 has been raised, which will help support the costs of Commissioning Week activities and build a health legacy fund to serve the crew’s greatest needs. The legacy fund has already funded needs like Internet hotspots to improve connectivity while the littoral combat ship is docked in Marinette, Wis. HII’s #IngallsShipbuilding division successfully launched the first LPD Flight II San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship Harrisburg (LPD 30), marking one of the first major milestones in the ship’s journey toward operational readiness. The launch of LPD 30 follows the recent announcement of the amphibious multi-ship procurement contract for the construction of three San Antonio-class (LPD 17) amphibious ships (LPD 33-35) and a contract modification for the next America-class (LHA 6) large-deck amphibious ship (LHA 10).
