We had a great FW-SIM meeting on Wednesday evening, with Dean M. Brenner from The Latimer Group as speaker. Thanks to Kamran Amin suggesting Dean, his team from Arch Capital Group Ltd. for attending, and to Robert Barocas, MBA, CSM, PMP hosting and emceeing! Once again the food and service at Rockrimmon CC was outstanding. And hats off to our membership team of Rhona Kannon, Andrew Cotter and Ken Zimmerman for helping our chapter win an award for highest member retention rate for '23-24 at this week's SIM National Chapter Leader's Summit meeting. At FWSIM’s "Building High-Performance Teams" event last Thursday, Danielle Maurici-Arnone of Combe, Dave Harris of Shake Shack and Fred Danback of Healthcare Risk Advisers unveiled transformative strategies for sculpting elite teams in today's dynamic landscape.   These included upskilling within slower-evolving sectors, leveraging agile, hybrid frameworks and strategic outsourcing as pillars in rapid-growth markets, and also leveraging the classic “4 A’s” of Management– and attendant FWSIM members came up with a couple additional “A’s!”   Naturally there was a special focus on AI's role in high-performance teams, and the perennial struggle against the “IT Hero” syndrome and the quest for satisfaction in stakeholder expectations. Perhaps most impactful was the panelists emphasizing and sharing meaningful real-world stories of the importance of vulnerability and empathy.  Thanks to our moderator, CIO and author Isaac Sacolick for a great job leading the discussion.  As we approached our scheduled conclusion, no one was ready to depart, and vibrant side conversations extended well beyond the official end time.  Great event and looking forward to the next FWSIM meeting coming right up on April 11 at Whitby Castle in Rye, NY.  

On Feb. 29 the Fairfield-Westchester chapter of Society for Information Management held a fascinating and highly educational presentation on “Generative AI in Real Life.” We had Lucy Tancredi and David O'Malley demonstrate solutions they'd implemented in their organizations, while Norman Jacknis moderated the presentation and gave an insightful overview of the potential benefits of Gen AI for the business and technology teams.  In this month’s upcoming meeting on Thursday 3/21, the focus is on “Building High-Performance Teams.”  https://lnkd.in/eC2b3jia for more information. 

Cybersecurity remains one of the chief challenges that IT leaders face in 2024.
