About us
The Faith to Action Initiative serves as a resource for Christian organizations, churches, and individuals who seek to respond to the needs of orphaned and vulnerable children around the world. Faith to Action promotes best practices in the care of orphaned and vulnerable children among the U.S. Christian community and upholds the vital importance of family and community in the life of every child. Faith to Action carries out this role through programs that raise awareness about the limitations of orphanages, help individuals and ministries strengthen family care, and share innovative ways to take action.

"My wish is that the community at large should accept these boys," says Nicholas, Shelter Yetu’s Street Outreach Coordinator, about his dream for the work he does helping to reunite children in Nairobi, Kenya with their families and communities. Today, we are wrapping up our celebration of Social Service Workforce Week. Throughout the week, we’ve been highlighting social workers from Shelter Yetu who are working to see children cared for in families. While many orphanages exist within Kenya, orphanages are not the best place for a child. The healthiest place for a child is in a family. #SSWWeek #SocialServiceWorkforce
